this. He built that monster from nothing. If a Cenla team did that and took full advantage of open enrollment to consolidate talent, a team from here would challenge Catholic and the best from the Catholic league year in and year out.
Thomas Bachman has done this at ASH for football. It’s starting to take shape that year in and year out ASH is a contender.

..that one puzzles me because the Academics at SCC are not even close to DHS and HHS.

Its a little more complicated than that for these families. Some believe in Catholic education and also want their kids in a smaller school.

As for academics, yes the students at the top at Destrehan and Hahnville will stack up against the best students at any school in the metro area. They are both good schools with big budgets and great facilities. That being said, they are both large public high schools that have the same issues a lot of large public high schools do that you might not see at St Charles Catholic. SCC is a fine school. I wouldn't say the academics are "not even close" as you did.

It went 8, in the 8th, tied 1-1, Riverdale imploded with hbp and bb, Pineville added on a couple hits and voila...11 runs. Talk about an implosion.

yes. very well played game all the way through with each Teams pitchers dealing and opportunities on both sides until the 8th. PHS turned the order over and the top of the lineup came through. Took the air out of Riverdale and got into the bullpen. Ended up batting around. The final score does not show how competitive and good of a high school game this was between two very evenly matched and well coached teams.

Play again today at 4:30

Hearing smhs has their guy.

Hmm. If that’s the case, then it sounds like it may be more of a “leading candidate” situation. From what I’m hearing from people in the know, they haven’t been able to interview all the applicants yet and I’d imagine more will apply now that we are getting towards the end of the season. Maybe they do have their guy and the remaining interviews are to maintain perceptions and do their due diligence. But I wouldn’t put money on it.

Whenever their season is done, they need to be ready to make a decision and announce right away. Their opening round matchup looks to be a toss-up and if they come away with the W, they get Vandebilt who they played very close earlier in the season. Anything is possible as long as the interim doesn’t shite the bed like he did against Brusly in the district championship.

I mean to take nothing away from what Glenn has done at Barbe, but just in case you didn’t know, when he was an asst there under Hannum, they were amongst the 8 best teams in the state when 5A was 5A.

I watched them lose in extras to NISH at North Park in Denham in the quarters back when they played state final 8 in elimination. He took over the next year and was knocked out by NISH again who eventually lost at the Box.

I played youth baseball in LC where 7 yo’s actually pitched. There were 3 leagues. Mid City, SLC, and Brentwood IIRC. When we moved to NI the next year, they were using pitching machines.

I guess my point is that LC has been a fertile baseball area and just not sure “nothing” would be entirely correct. Definitely fair to say
that Glenn has been to championships at Barbe what Bertman was to LSU

This is spot on. The SLC little league was the best in the state in the early 2000’s until the 2020’s and still would be if it wasn’t for travel ball. My point is that the LC area had the right amount of talent and Cechinni was great at raising the money and it was a great combination.

Lafayette wins Game 3 7-0 over Ponchatoula.

2029 RHP Ryan Cahanin only gave up a phantom single until the sixth inning. A shallow fly ball that got lost in the lights.

Lafayette at STM next.
