i get all that....but dude 2300 students. 2300 and from an area overall that values baseball
i dont get what you are talking about with the no parish migration, most other public schools dont have that either and that is who they are competing against.

I wouldnt call eliminating a JC team with 6 d1
Players from the playoffs nothing.
The demographic shift in their parish has not been good for baseball
Parish migration - people that live in parishes with weak public schools and weaker facilities lie about where they live and go to school in neighboring parishes with better schools/facilities

I mean if you’re in Orleans, Chalmette would be a logical place for you to do this. It’s just that they aren’t usually baseball families. There’s a reason in the past few years MLK Charter, Livingston Collegiate (soon to become Sarah Reed), and Douglass have closed
With that being said, a couple years ago, half our lineup was black
777 is overselling us lol. We’re still one of the biggest schools in the state, but he’s overselling us by 200 or more kids

Have they established a pipeline with any of the middle schools and/or travel ball organizations? I would assume yes, since the coach has been there for a good bit. But, I would also guess that some of the kids still don't follow the pipeline anyway.

That and the playoff series we won two years ago just seem like nothing because we went to North LA and got absolutely worked in round 2.

This was only Doug Faust’s second year…

its the constant whining that gets on my nerves.
Would we rather not have these threads lol.
We pass a rule, I thought it was gonna take effect since it was in the handbook, it doesn’t, and lo and behold we miss playoffs by one spot in football, one spot in boys basketball, and two in baseball, with winning records in all three sports. Then we’re in a fine district, but we get moved to the Catholic League for what… particularly when other districts around the state have 9 teams. Sorry it’s been a rough year.
I go to everything and ever since Katrina we’ve had one chance to win state in something, the Mitchell Robinson year in 2017, and even as great as he’s been in the NBA, not even he could get it done for us

FWIW I think it’s complete BS yall got grouped in with the Catholic League, and this is coming from someone who can’t stand Chalmette

The number #3 pitcher is who pitched against Cath-BR ,Mason Conrad, he has really been doing good for the past 2 years.
Hardesty and Anderson is a very good 1/2 punch. Lost 3 very close games to StL and South Beau during season. Getting past #15 Jena, #7 French Settlement and then possibly #3 Doyle will be tough any way you slice it.
Did it change to one game for D3 Championship it was 3 last year for Sterlington vs Erath?

It’s still a best of 3 series for all divisions except the D4’s, class B and class C

if you are a good baseball player in the GNO area, you go to a private school. Like if you are a good baseball player in LC area, you go to one of the public schools, for the most part.

very familiar with all of them. Conrad has been doing really well and yea i kept up with a lot of the games. and yea I think they will be fine until they play doyle but hosting will help a lot
and yea I was 100% wrong on the championship. its still 3 games. Will be hard for anyone to beat sterlington 2 out of 3.
I hope westlake wins it all, i graduated from there and will always cheer for them and have lots of friends with kids playing and this is their best shot until at least 2030.

i get that but still should be able to develop those connections before HS to get the pipeline going. have systems in place to show the growth of the kids measurably with data. You arent going to get everyone.
Not going to lie though, i wouldnt send my kid there.

there are plenty that goto to St Louis. thats why they are in contention every year.

Well, they haven’t caught them just yet
But I do appreciate the insight.

no i mean Mandeville will have to beat airline who is decent but Mandeville has the pitching and type of team that makes things very uncomfortable for teams.
