JPRD East/Kenner merged that 16 yr old age group into a JPRD all star team in like 1999. I think like 5 kids were drafted off of that team. Diamond, Liotta, Gaudin, Lado, and maybe one more. Like 7-8 of those kids played in college, which is impressive for a "park ball" all star team. They didn't even get out of state. I think JPRD West even beat them.

quote:im all for a coach coaching his team however he chooses. I do feel HS coaches shouldn’t try to influence the young men in the other team.
I’ve been an opposing fan at 2 of his games this year. He reminds me of Cecchini in so far as his gamesmanship/childish/motivational techniques. Literally turned a scrimmage into 4.5 hrs with meetings with his batters to interrupt pitcher’s timing. Also saw him in an actual game leave the 3rd base coach’s box running up the line all the way to home plate on a ball in play to the pitcher, yelling toward the field. But I think if we’re all being honest, we would take the coach with passion over the one just filling out a card going through the motions when our kid is involved. And after meeting Cechinni, there is a level of appreciation you gain when he’s not in the opposing dugout. I’m sure it might be the same in this case.
I have seen some crap this year that is straight trash. No much and definitely outliers but there are a couple guys I would not let my kid play for. Having seen the Central coach up close, he did nothing when they played us that was in poor taste. We beat them in a walk off and he and his team were very polite and engaging in spite of a close loss as we served them their food.

Destrehan wins the series over Fontainebleau
Desty travels West Monroe next week for the best of 3 series.

I mean the more i thought about this…didnt the same kid who caught the championship game catch the game earlier that week? Checked the gamechanger and it looked like his stats were good.

I think the length of the suspension was also in some part due to the fact that he coached game 2 of DH after being DQ'd
