Right, but that’s not really the point. It’s not that there aren’t good private schools, it’s that the public schools are viable sports powerhouses. Same can be said in the Monroe area.

Looks like game 1 of Mandeville v Airline will be streamed on NFHS this evening.

If anybody knows of other games streaming, post here.

From a local interest perspective, would like to know if Riverdale streams anything.

I’m just saying. If you’re outside Orleans or Jefferson your local nonselect school is generally OK. I don’t think Hahnville or Destrehan or us or Belle Chasse or anyone in St. Tammany is struggling. There’s enough kids for everyone

just not enough for poor ole chalmette. listen real simple, compete and provide a better product in terms of school environment, facilities, development and you will keep kids there

nobody wants to pay 12-15k a year to send their kid to the private school.....they do it because that gives them a much better shot at the future.

stop whining, start competing.

do you think barbe was always the barbe it is today? when Glen showed up there wasnt even an outfield fence and he was told if he didnt raise 2k by the end of the season they were closing it down.

took him over a decade to win his first ship.

yall as a school and community are going to have to make it cool to go there.

Off subject but what’s your estimate of Barbes annual receivables?
Wife worked at Barbe and helped Glenn several years.
My guess is $250,000.

this. He built that monster from nothing. If a Cenla team did that and took full advantage of open enrollment to consolidate talent, a team from here would challenge Catholic and the best from the Catholic league year in and year out.

he said in the Dsarm video its around 500k per year. I know the auction raised close to 250 this year. if the bond passes that will pay for the turf outfield, still need to put in bigger bathrooms and new lights for sure after that plus other things

he does a great job raising money for the program for sure.

500? Dang.

I had about 300 in my head. That’s awesome to get that much support. I bet we have 100. And that is up about 70, lol

BM is playing Zachary tonight at Zachary and tomorrow at UNO as a warmup for the playoffs. Zachary beat BM early in the season 9-7. It was one of BM's only 5 losses this season.

Mandeville up 6-1 going to bottom of 6, without throwing Parker or Marse. Parker seems to have an issue with his glove hand, though.

ETA: His hand seems fine.

Hahnville and Destrehan lose a lot of kids to private schools. In the early 2000's Rummel had 5 or 6 kids from Luling starting for them. That was when Rummel won 4 Catholic League titles in a row. Lots of kids also leave the parish to go to St. Charles Catholic in LaPlace....that one puzzles me because the Academics at SCC are not even close to DHS and HHS.
