some good racing and battles in this race
When will F1 realize that having such a disparity between the top constructor / the second and third constructors is killing the sport??
This is not a competition to win the race anymore
Even when HAM was winning every season you still had Seb and Kimi putting pressure on him. There is zero pressure on Max from any team or driver whatsoever.
How much longer will this go on?
End rant
No, it was the same when Ham was winning he was way out in front.
F1 has always been a parade for at least a few decades. A person learns what to root for or watch. If a leading battle is the only reason to watch then its not the sport for you.
For example, I know Haas has zero chance to win. But I can watch for and see their improvements vs last year. Amazing what a TP change can do.
Strategy is a big part of all racing. Tires. When to pit. How to maximize a teams points (like Mag helping Hul get points a few races ago).
To get real hard racing you have to watch junior or minor series. Sprint cars and others. And Indycar is the best actual racing of mainstream racing.

They left him on softs for second restart and he went from 10th to 16th.
Because he fuct up the restart. Not because of being on softs like he was for the start where he picked up two spots.

Sainz is a better driver than Hamilton at this point.
Only TeamLH would dispute this.

I realize times are tough when you're getting owned by the Rangers but try not to let the melt spill over to the F1 thread, k buddy?
Yeah… I’m the one melting
Anyways, on a serious note, I meant what I said. If I want to watch a series with artificial parity I can watch NASCAR. I don’t want the rules changed when someone gets too far out in front, I want the teams to have to improve if they want to compete.
The cost cap seems to be tightening the field already. F1 doesn’t need to do anything else.

Who knows what will happen with the changes for 2026 and next year could get spicy if Carlos winds up at Red Bull with Max.

I just want to know if there are any McLaren-esque improvements coming for any teams this year. Seems like that hasn’t been discussed.

I can tell you never read my post. I showed why he went from 10th to 16th and it had zero to do with tires. I was only stating what the team did not the cause was tires. But failing to read means you missed that part.
Please reread again.

What coverage have you been watching this year. They don't show Max unless it's the start or the last lap. They've shown lots of the 3rd on down battles this year.

There's no way you watch F1.

quote:Spot on. Since Max won his first championship, when there was a consistent battle between him and Hamilton for first, the quality of the cars between 2nd and the rest of the constructors has become much more uniform, separated by 10ths of a second in lap times and those battles for place and the driver's styles and history come into play and are super interesting!
There's no way you watch F1.
But lnomm34 has probably watched a few recent episodes of 'Drive to Survive' on Netflix and came to this thread to flex his deep, intimate knowledge.

Hamilton near the bottom of the points again.
As a member of the Tifosi anyone want to hop in the loser car and go losing with me?

My two cents from watching the race
* I think you all are being unfair to Danny on this one, it was just racing to me, and even Max was defending the move as he was concerned about his left. Then again, he probably would have screwed up elswhere.
* Enjoyed the passing yesterday...
* Just like last week, it is exciting to know that Haas has people with strategy that gives them a chance even if they did not score yesterday.
* Very happy for Yuki..
* I am all for Sainz finishing 2nd in the WDC...Vamos Carlos
* Who is the next great American hope..Logan has to be on his last legs
* Congrats Sauber...you had 4 second pit stops instead of 20 or 30 seconds and you moved up places
* Alpine...with all their money...this is crazy

Agree, I bet if you break it down by amount of time on camera, Max gets less than 20%.
Which when you think about it is crazy compared to other sports. That the best driver on the grid and potentially best ever (lots TBD) gets so little live coverage.
I think F1 has done a great job this year with highlighting the 2-10 battles.

For fricking sure. They were like “oh btw he’s pitted” yesterday.
lol at Alonso keeping Piastri within DRS range to fend off Russell.

I got a feeling that the guy that was arguing with me before the season that Sainz is an overrated driver hasn't shown up lately.
Sainz killing it and Hamilton struggling makes me happy. I'd prefer for Sainz to get a shot at being the #1 on a team but it would be pretty cool to see how he could do in the Red Bull.
I was kind of surprised at the commentary putting no blame on Ric for the crash. I though the view from Strolls car was pretty telling that it was Danny's fault. I mean there was quit a bit of room on his left, he definitely wasn't pushed over. Not saying it was intentional, obviously it wasn't, but it doesn't mean you're not at fault if you just straight up don't see a guy and crash. I don't root against Ric, but it would be nice if the broadcast would give some criticism when it's needed. It's like it's in ESPN's contract that you can't say anything negative about him.
I think the biggest surprise of the season for me is still just how bad Alpine is. Not sure I've seen someone take this much of a step backwards, they are awful.
