Stroll being pissed he couldn’t catch Yuki in the straights was the highlite for me.

Sainz passing sharl , close second.

I am hoping Checo Checos and Sainz takes 2nd in drivers.

Would be the biggest FU.

No doubt, ferrari made the decision based off $$$, but Sainz is a better driver than Hamilton at this point. Not in his heyday, but plateued, downside Hamilton.

Haas is so much better than last year. They have fixed so many supporting problems like pit stops are super good now. And tires falling way off is now equal to others.

Hulk had a great chance to score points. They left him on softs for second restart and he went from 10th to 16th. But over the race he raced his way back to 11th, great driving.

Here is his comments on what happened second start:

“Hulkenberg: The first start was really good. But on the second start I went into anti-stall mode as soon as I released the clutch. That's a shame, of course, because maybe we could have fought against Yuki or beat Yuki in the fight for the one point that was still up for grabs”

some good racing and battles in this race

When will F1 realize that having such a disparity between the top constructor / the second and third constructors is killing the sport??

This is not a competition to win the race anymore

Even when HAM was winning every season you still had Seb and Kimi putting pressure on him. There is zero pressure on Max from any team or driver whatsoever.

How much longer will this go on?

End rant

This race was awesome. It was great to see passing without DRS! Another podium for the Sainz 2K24 Vengeance tour!

Did F1 tell the other constructors to slow down? Sounds like they should go faster.

Riveting analysis...

I realize times are tough when you're getting owned by the Rangers but try not to let the melt spill over to the F1 thread, k buddy?

No, it was the same when Ham was winning he was way out in front.

F1 has always been a parade for at least a few decades. A person learns what to root for or watch. If a leading battle is the only reason to watch then its not the sport for you.

For example, I know Haas has zero chance to win. But I can watch for and see their improvements vs last year. Amazing what a TP change can do.

Strategy is a big part of all racing. Tires. When to pit. How to maximize a teams points (like Mag helping Hul get points a few races ago).

To get real hard racing you have to watch junior or minor series. Sprint cars and others. And Indycar is the best actual racing of mainstream racing.

Because he fuct up the restart. Not because of being on softs like he was for the start where he picked up two spots.

Only TeamLH would dispute this.

Yeah… I’m the one melting

Anyways, on a serious note, I meant what I said. If I want to watch a series with artificial parity I can watch NASCAR. I don’t want the rules changed when someone gets too far out in front, I want the teams to have to improve if they want to compete.

The cost cap seems to be tightening the field already. F1 doesn’t need to do anything else.

Who knows what will happen with the changes for 2026 and next year could get spicy if Carlos winds up at Red Bull with Max.

I just want to know if there are any McLaren-esque improvements coming for any teams this year. Seems like that hasn’t been discussed.

I can tell you never read my post. I showed why he went from 10th to 16th and it had zero to do with tires. I was only stating what the team did not the cause was tires. But failing to read means you missed that part.

Please reread again.

On television, that’s basically 95+% of the coverage. So. If it’s not competitive at the front, it’s not very interesting viewing.

In the cutaway shots to see a replay of an overtake for 13th place. Yea.

What coverage have you been watching this year. They don't show Max unless it's the start or the last lap. They've shown lots of the 3rd on down battles this year.
