Definitely a boring race. Before the season I did not have someone beating Max by 20 seconds in a race with no issues on my bingo card.

Would have been better if Merc didn't pull their Soft Tire bullshite and give Checo 6th place on a silver platter and if the back markers weren't there.

Slowed up lots of the fighting in that top-mid field.

Meanwhile, at the back, Yuki is having a disastrous race. Aside from the usual VCARB strategy error

He certainly didn't help the strategy by losing 2 places while starting on softs.
Yes the rest of the strategy sucked, but yuki already dug himself a big hole.

Nice to see Lando close up a bit in the WDC, but if Lando and Max finish P1-P2 for the last 10 races of the season, Lando would also have to get the fast lap of the race for 9 of those races to pass Max in the championship. So we need Max to finish below P2 a few times for Lando to have a realistic chance at the championship. Max is so reliable, we need some mechanical issues or someone crashing into him to make the championship interesting.

Whoops I made a mistake, I forgot about the three remaining sprint races. So, just to correct the calculation:

If Lando and Max finish P1 - P2 in the last 10 grands prix and the last 3 sprint races, Lando would also have to get the fast lap for "just" 6 of the last 10 races (and Max does not get any fast laps) to pass Max for the WDC.

Someone speculated though that Red Bull would not hesitate to pit Perez late in a race (no matter what his personal race stiuations is) to take the fast lap away from Lando. But I question whether Red Bull would sacrifice WCC points in order to support Max's WDC campaign.

I think they have to do whatever they can to support Max... He is their bread and butter and if they want any chance of retaining him, they better prioritize him winning the drivers championship.

Checo already doesn't do anything to protect him like Bottas did for Ham.

Horner clarified that he's open to loaning Lawson out to another team for a short term and on short notice, but he wants to keep Lawson as their reserve driver and be able recall Lawson immediately if he's needed. In other words, Lawson can race for Williams, but if the weekend has already started and one of the four Red Bull drivers gets sick or injured, Horner wants to be able to recall Lawson immediately, leaving Williams to scramble for a replacement in the middle of the event. I'm gonna guess that Williams is going to pass on this offer.

Oh, also Toto ruled out Antonelli taking the temporary race seat at Wiliams, saying that they prefer to keep him on their scheduled testing and F2 schedule.

At this point it looks like RB have zero chance of winning the constructors.

I had to Google him....he's part of Williams Driver Academy/Williams test driver and currently racing F2.

I'm not surprised to see Williams give Logan the boot, but I am surprised to see them swap him out for a rookie.

Yeh replacing Logan because of crashes with a rookie in his first F2 season is odd. He must come with a lot of Argentinian sponsor money.

Thought they would give Lawson a run. I’m guessing this is a “we don’t care about points, please just keep the car in one piece”.

Mick was mentioned quite a bit as well, with Lawson I think Red Bull was apprehensive to release him in the event he was needed as a reserve driver, plus fulfill his duties as a test driver. I suppose I'm glad to see them promote from within but still seems a bit surprising.

That's good deal for RB. Why not get him more experience? Can't hurt them at all imo. He'd just be more race ready.

Sargeant will have a nice Indycar career...probably will never be a title contender but he's talented enough to win a race or two with the right strategy calls

Is this a good move for Calapinto? 9 races this season but no chance of retaining that seat for next season and not many other options. Will he be able to return to F2? Become the reserve driver for Williams?

Why would anyone in f2 ever say no to an f1 seat, no matter how short the stint?

Raise your hand if you had Colapinto anywhere in the same hemisphere as your Williams Replacement Bingo Card.

Yeah, me neither.

yeah for sure. Nothing guaranteed. Drugovich and Pourchaire for example would love to have a F1 drive.

Wasn't able to watch the replay but Zandvoort is cool with the banked turns but overtaking is tough.

Seems like Lando took the lead and never looked back. He opened up a sizeable lead in just 7 laps or so.

Is McLaren the fastest car on the grid right now?

It certainly looks like it.
