I like it. Nets are loaded but missing some dirty, mean type of player, especially up front. Young isn't really a PF and they don't have a decent alternative. It would be interesting if someone could convince T. Robinson to just focus on rebounding and defense, ala Amir Johnson. He is a physical freak and has great size. I just don't get why he hasn't caught on anywhere yet.

I just can't figure out the East for next season. No team, that was in the playoff hunt, took major steps back and most seemed to get a bit better. It's going to be a 12-13 team battle for seeding. Should be an interesting season..

I was truly 50/50 on it. I would have been fine either way. He's a legit 20/10 big man but is the worst defensive big in basketball. He also finally gives the Thunder a back to the basket scoring threat.

For a scoring lineup, this is pretty damn nasty with any player capable of going off:

Russ
Morrow
KD
Ibaka
Kanter

My prayer is that he will finally commit to no longer playing matador defense under Billy Donovan. Otherwise, he's going to be quite an expensive 18 minute a game kinda guy.

Monty will probably get the best out of him defensively.

I think they had to do it, to prove to KD that they'd pay the tax, but I don't like it from basketball standpoint. Although, I'm pretty sure he killed us in one game this season.

My only hope is that Kanter, only being 23, can improve in any shape or form on the defensive end.

I mean, he honestly cannot get worse

That's definitely a contender, but who would you give up? I would think Denver would want picks and expiring contracts, but I'm not knowledgeable enough right now to know what Houston has in those departments.

I posted this a bit further down.

quote:

Jones, Papanikolaou, Dorsey, and a first round pick should do it. This is Lawson's last year. They will become desperate to dump him, and nobody has more than that to give.

I think Prigioni would also be thrown in to make the money work. That roster I posted accounted for what I believe Houston would need to give up.

I also laughed, but to myself. The Nets are in a super shitty situation unless they land a big free agent next offseason, which I don't think will happen unless they change owners/management.

The Nets are just terribly run top to bottom. Jigga needs to buy back in and save them

Jigga is an agent, and therefore can't own a team

With OKC dishing Kanter a new 4-year, $70M deal, the team is paying him more for his offense than his defense. Last year, his 29 blocks were the 2nd fewest for a center in the last 25 seasons. Next season that would equal $603,448.28 per block.

I know people said his defense was bad but damn. I keep seeing statistics like this and he must be absolute dog shite.

When he did, he owned about as much of the team as we did

KJ will sign an offer sheet with someone, and then we will really have to make a decision. I don't see any team that wants JSmoove and can pay more than us. We have the perfect situation for him in my opinion. Hope he realizes that.
