Good signing. He'll be able to come off of the bench and make some buckets. Resign smith and another PG and they're done. Should flirt w 60 wins with good health.

Bev FA backup (Johnson)
Harden Thornton
Ariza brewer dekker papa
Motie smith jones
Howard capella Dorsey

Imagine they'll try to not keep jones and papanikolau and Johnson and dekker see a lot of time in the d-league. Second unit should be sick.

Thornton isn't amazing, but at least he's a player who can score some points.

The good thing is he was signed for the vet min, so it doesn't eat into the MLE.

Also... I wonder why we've heard nothing about Josh Smith? All we've heard is that the Kings had some mild interest... but that was like a week ago.

Because Morey is trying to get Lawson which could mean taking Faried too.

I really don't know tbh.

Miami has done a very good job of building that roster. And I think they could still win a lot of games and be a 2-3 seed with Spo putting Wade on the Duncan reduced minutes plan. All depends on CB's health and ability to put up 22/10 numbers night in and night out.

If any of you rockets fans get insider information on Lawson to Houston, please post. I want to put money down before the odds change.

If I had to guess, I'd say Lawson will be a Houston Rocket at some point next season, but Morey might wait. There really aren't many NBA teams in the market for a starting PG like him, and of those teams, the Rockets have by far the best assets to trade.

Lawson/Beverley
Harden/Thornton
Ariza/Brewer/Dekker
Motiejunas/Smith
Howard/Capela

That is a true championship contender. No doubt.

Looks good. I am actually satisfied with that. I was all in on Aldridge, but as expected, he might a quiet and predictable decision. Lawson would be a great addition with Beverley as back-up. We need to make sure we have good PG depth, because the West is still chock-full of great PG's. Although its interesting, what will the Spurs do for their PG situation? Tony Parker is looking very meh.

ESPN sources say Bargnani, in fact, took less money from Nets because he preferred fit in Brooklyn. Kings pitched two-year deal

Vivek Ranadive just wants to give somebody, anybody, a real California welcome.

Instead he got DeAndrea Bargnani'd

I just hope the Bargnani news ramps up the Kings pursuit of Josh Smith. I really think that will be the straw that breaks Karl's back and he just walks out

Thunder match Portland's offer for Kanter. Also, please note:

@WojYahooNBA: As salary cap rises in 2016-'17, Kanter contract won't cause Thunder to be a luxury tax team -- even if Kevin Durant signed new deal.

Just wondering, who would Houston be trading for Lawson in that scenario. The only major guy you have missing is T. Jones. Will he be enough to get Lawson? The salary has to be way apart. I'm thinking they would have to package in Beverly along with Jones, plus picks and maybe somebody else (Dekker or Cappela?).

Jones, Pappanikolaou, Dorsey, and a first round pick should do it. This is Lawson's last year. They will become desperate to dump him, and nobody has more than that to give.

Does the money match up? I'm sure other teams could offer more. But I'm not sure how big the market is for him. I've always like smaller, quicker PGs. But that isn't as big in the league right now.

I think if you add Prigioni to that, it's close. Lawson is at 12 million or so.

In reality, there aren't that many teams who need Lawson. Someone posted this on Clutch Fans, and I pretty much agree with all of it.

quote:

Let's look at every NBA team and see if they would want Lawson...

Rockets - YES
Mavericks - D. Williams just signed, so no
Spurs- lolz
Pelicans - Already have Holiday so doesn't make since to go after Lawson
Grizzlies - Conely

Clippers - Paul
Kings - Rondo
Warriors - Curry
Suns - Knight and Bledsoe (although adding Lawson would be fun to see a 3 PG lineup)
Lakers - Clarkson and Russell

Thunder - Westbrook
Timberwolves - Rubio and Tyus Jones (Lawson for Rubio straight up would be interesting)
Blazers - Lillard
Jazz - Burke and Exum (perhaps they would want an upgrade for a playoff run)

Celtics - Smart and Bradley (see Jazz)
Sixers - Hinkie no likie
Knicks - no assets to trade, but would fit decently there
Nets - Just got rid of DWill, but no assets and want to avoid as much tax as possible
Raptors - Lowry

Heat - Dragic
Magic - Payton (see Jazz and Celtics)
Hornets- Walker and Lin
Hawks - Teague
Wizards - Wall

Cavs - Irving
Bucks - Carter-Williams
Bulls - Rose
Pistons - Jackson and Jennings
Pacers - Hill

Sooooooo it looks like the Knicks and Nets could use him, but have nothing to trade for, and the Jazz, Celtics, Magic, and maybe the Bucks could potentially trade their young PG for Lawson, but I haven't heard anything that would make these scenarios likely.

This leaves the Rockets has the most likely landing spot, if he were to get traded.

Another sneaky good move by the Nets. Bargnani steps into Teletovic's spot. But with a bit more size. Also gives the Nets another cheap reclamation project up front, T. Robinson. The King/Hollins combo looks really promising..

Bargnani can back up Thad and Lopez. And can also get the Nets to go big with Thad at 3 sometimes. Good pick up.
