How do you know?
I’ve read the opposite. They are most certainly waiting for an opportunity.

Just made 30+K in about an hour. Selling one day iron condors. ( ASML, AMD, and MU). Do you even know what that is?
Good luck to those that listen to you.
I’m out. See yall in other Money threads.

The money market on the sidelines narrative has been around for a while.
Candidly I have no idea who’s got the bulk cash but I do know a majority of the money is not idly waiting to deploy into stocks.
It gives me confidence that any future economic problems will have some downside buffer. Corporations are reasonably well capitalized.
Fareplay is just waiting on that crash to buy in and claim "I told you so!"

The IPO price is $135 but once it begins trading, I anticipate it will be higher at the start and then the roller/space coaster begins.
What time does it start trading? Im still seeing $135

America's $7 trillion cash stash isn't going anywhere
This was Reuters back in 2024.
Eta:
I think context is necessary here.
Question 1: Who owns the cash?
A huge portion is corporate payrolls, pension liabilities, cash for operations, bank assets for capital requirements, etc. This is structural, not tactical cash.
Question 2: Is there any dry powder for stocks?
Likely so. Market valuations, as high as they are, probably have conservative shops and retail investors sidelined. It surely could gwt deployed. I just think the $7T dry powder narrative is probably overstated by a significant amount of trillions.

Here's a detailed reply when looking up why IPO's trade later than the open...
"The primary reasons for delayed trading include:
Determining the True Market Value: The price printed on a prospectus is not the price the public will pay. Underwriters gauge pre-market trader demand to find a fair opening price. If the stock is highly anticipated, this process ensures the price can open at a premium without immediate chaos.
Auction Mechanics: Exchanges use specific opening processes (such as Nasdaq's "IPO cross" or the NYSE's "IPO auction"). These systems run matching algorithms designed to prevent extreme price manipulation and provide stable initial executions.
Volatility Management: Because newly listed stocks have limited liquidity and high emotional demand (FOMO), taking hours to balance large buy and sell orders helps absorb early volatility."
It should be actively trading in the next couple hours or so.

Same here. Checked my ETrade account this morning and had 1 share. Will be fun to see what happens over the next few years.

Getting 15 out of 250 annoyed me more than if I got none.
I just wanted a small play and I ended up with a tiny arse nothing.

A trillion+ dollars going into SPCX has to come from somewhere.

If we ever get a real pullback in the market, SoaceX would get hit so hard.

Just bought 150 shares at $150. Not sure if I will sell later today or if my buy in is low enough.
