I run a small industrial business that does sales and service to chemical plants/oilfield. We are looking for new ideas for promotional items with our logo to give to customers. Trying to think outside the box and get away from the standard hats, notebooks, pens, koozies, yeti cups, etc.

I’ve seen people private label seasoning blends, which I like. Any other ideas that cater to the “outdoors” people in Louisiana? Trying to find something outside the box that will actually get used. We plan to give to current customers, along with being able to give away at golf tournaments, customer events, etc. So budget can vary depending on who we want to give them to.

Not sure if this is the right board, but assumed there were plenty people in sales along with small business owners on here.

Thanks!

I'm on the receiving end of alot of this gimmicky branded shite and my opinion is the best gifts are food/alcohol. One can only need so many coffee mugs, yeti cups, pens, etc. And who the hell uses mouse pads anymore. Most of that ends up in a trash can. Examples of a few of the gifts i've received that I enjoy:

- One of our vendors buys an entire barrel of Jack Daniels Single Barrel. It is bottled and boxed and the bottle itself has a "medallion" hanging around the neck of it that has their company logo on it. I think the box has some info on the barrel that they purchased. Have gotten one of these every Christmas for years now, always look forward to it.

- Another company buys pecan pies from some popular bakery, and the pie is packaged into a decorative wooden box with the company's logo branded into the top of it. The pies are delicious.

- One company is owned by a family from Croatia, and I believe their family back home owns an olive grove. Croatia is known for producing olive oil. They bottle it up and have it shipped to the US. The bottles that the olive oil is in have the company logo on them. That shite is good.

This is the kind of stuff I look forward to every year, not the $5 flashlight you get on imprint.com

Check out Whiskey Balls. They're silicone ice ball molds that you fill with water and freeze to put in cocktails. They're about the size of baseballs.

You can get the mold made with you company logo in it so that it's embossed in ice when frozen. I just gave out of a ton of these at an industry event and they were a huge hit.

I see a few manufacturers online. Do you happen to know where you purchased?

I like getting portable chargers and are probably the most used item.

Seasoning blend is good and have even gotten a custom hot sauce

Customized poker chips are easily customizable and fairly cheap.

I work for a pretty big promotional items company in the south. Here are some ideas that our customers really like nowadays.
1. Branded cutting board
2. Branded leathermen knife
3. Branded golf balls
4. Branded bag - this one is pretty popular right now OGIO Rockwell
5. And of course we have all the apparel items. A nice vest or jacket would be appreciated this time of year.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Whatever you end up getting, make sure it is high quality. Nothing worse than the guy that gives you a dozen warbird golf balls or a shirt thatll make you itch if you wear it in the heat. Means a lot more when someone gives you a ProV1 or a footjoy golf shirt.

Some good ones ive seen are
-clip on jbl speakers with their logo on the front,
-metal business cards that also function as a bottle opener
-backpack coolers

I do branded food items tied to my side gig, I get my customers logos on a few different things. Bags of New Orleans coffee in different flavors, tea, Louisiana made bbqing/cooking sauces. laser etched on bottles of Brown Forman stuff Jack, gentlemen jack, woodford. Depending how much you want to do Solo Stove (smokeless fire pit) can put your logo on them (min 10). "The oyster bead" platters I think. Few ideas some I have done some not yet. Depends on how many is needed.

After reading your post I looked around my desk to see what kind of stuff I had that I have been given. Probably the best thing is a wireless phone charger with the company's logo on it. It has been on my desk at least a year.

Most promo things are a waste of money and of little marketing value.

We get a lot of Christmas gifts from vendors in the office and I honestly can't tell you who sends them.

Far and away the thing we gave away that people like the most were jar openers. The rubber pads that you held to open jars. Those were kept. Most other stuff was in the trash in the convention hall.

If it were the OT someone would have said fleshlights.

I agree with consumables. They'll get used for sure.
