Yeah. You got me. Is “Scotty” supposed to be my name or like a term of endearment?

So leave.

I’ve worked for a PE-owned company since 2019, and it’s been a great experience all around. I’ve worked for the company since 2011. Worked my way up and now am SVP. We’re now on our second PE group. Neither one has cleaned house.

My firsthand experience tells me if you’re fundamentally a good company, they don’t screw with you. If you’re not, buckle up…

Never said that. You should never tithe or give anything with the idea that you’re doing it just to get something in return. That’s not what it’s about. However tithing is one of the rare instances in the Bible where God tells you to test him if you don’t believe it.

Malachi 3:10: "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it"
For the past five years or so, my wife and I have made an intentional decision to tithe 10% of our gross income to the church we attend. We’ve been blessed beyond measure year after year and have committed to increasing our tithes by 0.5% each time I get a pay raise. We should end this year at 12%.

We wouldn't change it for the world. It’s the least we can do for what we’ve been blessed with.

It does not. I transferred $7k from my normal fidelity account to my traditional IRA yesterday. This morning, I converted that to my Roth without issue.

WTB Alabama Parking Pass in 300 lots

Looking to purchase a parking pass for Alabama in any of the 300 lots.
Same here. Off S Vignes Rd. Lost power at 9 pm.
If I’m Trump, I’m dumping the whole secret service as soon as I’m elected and rolling with Tier 1 Operators instead. I don’t care what branch. We do a better job protecting tribal leaders in Afghanistan than the secret service did last night.

Rize is not a Trump hater. You’re a fool.
I recently bought a 2021 Sky Dweller and a 2024 Datejust 31 from a dealer on RolexForums. Great place to find quality, authentic watches from. Like said above, they do a good job policing themselves and you can find multiple references on the forum. Many of the sellers also have their own websites that you can cross-check their reviews on google, trust pilot, and even eBay.

re: SpaceX pre-ipo shares?

I registered on Rainmaker-X to look into their SpaceX shares, but their website is trash. So confusing to use and like zero instructions.

Anyone actually acquired shares through Rainmaker before?

Any recommendations on who to call?

If your have a LOMR-F then you won’t be in flood zone A anymore and won’t have to carry flood insurance at all - it does change the map - it’s a letter of map amendment.

Great advice. Thanks

Thanks, this is helpful. I didn't mean to change the official flood zone map from A to X, just meant to get the "zone X" flood insurance rate and not be required to pay crazy high rates for something that is likely never going to happen.

I appreciate it.

Building in Flood Zone A

Posted by MaxDraft on 4/9/24 at 5:28 pm
Question for the board -

I'm looking at purchasing a lot that is half in zone X and half in A. Unfortunately, it's split on the sides and not the middle, so I can't just build in the zone X portion.

The zone A part is roughly 2' or so low compared to the base flood elevation for that area. My question is, if/when I build a house higher than the base flood elevation on that lot, does it keep me from paying insane flood insurance? Is there any way to get a "zone X" rate?

Pyrgos, Santorini for Greek Easter

Posted by MaxDraft on 2/4/24 at 3:59 pm
Has anyone visited Pyrgos Kallistis village in Santorini for Greek Easter? I’m planning a trip there for Good Friday to witness their celebration and trying to figure out if it’s better to stay in Pyrgos or just outside to catch the candlelights.
He’ll probably be his Chief of Staff.
