The expendable 6 week employee writes the tweet, then goes on a news tour.
Anthropic officials openly agree with the tweet.

Dario writes a doom and gloom essay a week later.

Sam and Elon “agree”

Yeah this was orchestrated for regulatory capture while they were still light years and getting ready for IPO.

Zuck said “frick no”

Don’t forget the employee arranged an exclusive interview with the WSJ. He was so terrified he needed to blow the whistle, but not before he got his PR team in place and negotiated a deal.

I think NBIS understates their intentions so that they can exceed expectations on their earnings reports. Under promise and over deliver. It gives them a reputation of having a superior level of competency, and that reputation is why they are the neo-cloud that everyone expects to become a hyperscaler someday.

part of it is their revenues are easier to predict than a lot of other companies. Makes it less difficult to be accurate and thus they can sandbag a little

i believe every public company tries to sand bag where they can. after Sarbanes Oxley there isn't as much "wiggle" as pre-SOX where earnings were definitely managed by many companies.

GE didn't have the streak of EPS growth every quarter by accident.
