I don’t know my gains (or losses). This is dumb.

I think with my play account I will be there soon. I took some of the top posters on this board advice and went heavy into NBIS and HGRAF very early . I’ll either have $0 in my Roth or no Job in 5-10 years depending on AI growth.

Not quite but getting closer. Probably 50% at this point. Maybe 3-5 years to get to 100%.

I think it’s going to make more than my salary starting this year

At a 4% draw I’d need to have 12.5 million in investable assets. Not there yet. But won’t need that salary when I retire.

I’m about 10 years from never having to work again. However I don’t plan on retiring for 20-25 years. Never work a day in your life if you love what you do and wake up every day excited to go to work

retired is such an over used term. most of us will never be "retired"

we will still invest and trade, and dabble in business deals. that is not retired. maybe just not working our career job anymore.

100%. My dad is 77. Still working. He loves it. Says it keeps his mind sharp. Also doesn’t hurt to be the boss.

Probably only about 4 years from eclipsing my annual income, but just as important, by next year my portfolio should be making more than my annual expenditures.

8-13 years until I'm ready to retire

Look at this 100% yield bro. You’re not paying someone to transfer money from your left hand to the right. You’re creating perpetual income…or maybe enough to pay your RH margin interest.

Yeah constantly see YouTube etc that chasing the hottest things. Then funds pop up just extracting massive fees from their marks.. I mean investors. They also throw shade on passive investing as it takes too long

Google 72t withdrawals. Don't pay a penalty, just make sure you have enough for the rest of your life before you start withdrawing.

At this point in the year my retirement + brokerage YTD returns are $12K ahead of my YTD income. It won't stay that way considering I make the majority of my income in the last quarter. Not bad for a millennial posting from my parents' basement.

I very aware of the options. My wife spends a lot of money and 72(t) would not support our current lifestyle.

My income varies materially year to year but I am unlikely to out earn passively what I earn actively.

4% gets me a little more than I'm currently making, but I don't really want to pay the 10% penalty. My wife retired at 49. She has some health issues that may or may not develop into anything (bone marrow abnormalities, idiopathic peripheral neuropathy) or they may become more serious and become a financial issue if I quit too soon. Now if someone were to throw a reasonable number at me for the value of my business? I'd probably be done.

Just stock account - no

Total investments - yes, but just my salary and not household. ~10% and up gains, not 4%.

In 5-7 years when we sell wife's company, easily. By 60, with favorable market conditions, we could be looking at 8 digit net worth. The economy could also crap itself and we could barely be 7 digits.

Yes. The last 3 years & this year YTD, my portfolio has gained more than my gross salary even excluding yearly contributions.

Last year, my portfolio gained more than double my salary. 3 years ago was when I realized me being able to retire early was actually in sight.
