Excel. Once a month I put all my account totals in it (Fidelity, bank, other IRAs, etc) and minus my loans. Let’s me see my net worth and I have a little graph. It’s like a snapshot of the 16th of the month. I don’t track individual purchases or anything.

I recommend getting an Office 365 subscription if you don’t have one. I download aggregated numbers from Fidelity, Copilot does the asset allocation for me and is also telling me where I have funds that overlap if I want to simplify. Does graphs and I’m starting to incorporate some Roth conversion analysis into it.

Funny, everyone on the PT board insists there’s no sarcasm font.

Also, I forgot to mention there’s a huge poverty porn industry on YouTube for Japanese salarymen using Dave Ramsay envelopes.

Monarch after Mint shut down. Worth the cost imo.

I cant recommend Monarch enough. I love it. I have everything loaded in including mortgages, 401ks, 529, auto loans, credit cards, etc. I was super concerned once Mint went away but it’s 10x better than Mint and well worth the $100/yr.

Sell me on it. If I have no issue with logging in to various accounts for routine money management, what is the extra value that Monarch offers that makes it worth $8 per month?

You are going to have to explain that one to me like I’m a 5 year old. I have no clue what that means?

Monarch is great but like $100/yr
If today is in 1948 then this amount is not worth mentioning with a “but” in the sentence.

Otherwise, $100 annually for anything is an insignificant amount.

Especially when that thing is oriented to keeping your entire financial life organized. It could probably 5x their price before I would even consider an alternative.

We've been using ynab for 2 years now. It's pretty legitimately changed our lives financially.

I'm fortunate in that I bought it before it went subscription based. It's useful, but everyone these days wants tech to figure out that they're paying for multiple Paramount+ subscriptions, they don't want to do the work to look for it themselves. Much better to let Rocketmoney scrape all your transaction data to give you a "free" product.

Some details on what Monarch is and does?

Is it cloud based, so they have all your information on their servers? I prefer keeping stuff local.

Same. I have used Quicken for over 30 years. Too much historical data there to change now.

Rocket Money is what I use at the moment. Been pretty good so far.

Helps set up budget, track spending by category.

If you have your mortgage through Rocket its free which is how I have things right now.

If I had to pay I would probably shop around and look into Monarch to compare how it works vs Rocket Money.
