PG: Darrell Mitchell, $2 (This lineup is full of scorers so all you need is a PG that can pass the ball and not focus on shooting unless he needs to)
SG: Pete Maravich, $5
SF: Ronald Dupree, $1 (Bargain of the century)
PF: Brandon Bass, $2
C: Shaquille O'Neal, $5

Probably my pick as well..

But Give me Jerry "Ice" Reynolds instead of Dupree all day. Dude knew how to steal and break to the basket.

Who was the greatest athlete to play?

Ronald Dupree,
Stromile Swift, -OR-
Tyrus Thomas

Also, besides Pistol Pete, who was the greatest lone player to lead a tiger team?

Stromile Swift -OR-

$5 Chris Jackson
$5 Pistol
$5 Shaq

I like my chances with only these 3 . But, if I have to pick 5, then it would be...

$5 Pistol
$5 Shaq
$2 Bass
$2 Mitchell
$1 Dupree

Shaq, Pistol and Chris Jackson. I’ll spend all $15 on them because they could beat any other 5 in college except a Laettner Hurley team or the Running Rebel team. I’d take my chances even against those.

LSU has had some amazing players come through our university, especially considering basketball is third behind football and baseball.

Shaq - requires double team or zone
Simmons - matchup nightmare when motivated
Glen Davis - value pick
Waters - shooter
Blakeney - shooter

I’m a believer that today’s players are an evolutionary leap past players of the past (except Shaq, who was freakish). Simmons is special. Can’t leave him off.

Cool topic. I think Torris Bright was a very good scorer but surprised to see him at $3 (maybe should have played more SG at LSU?).

Don Redden was one of the 1st players I remember, not sure if he is really the 2nd best SG ever or if I've undervalued his talent.

Vernel Singleton would have been a good $1 role player, maybe switch him for Lloreda.

Jerry Reynolds, Anthony Wilson, and Ronnie Henderson also come to mind although not sure if they quite deserve to make the list.
