Think about this…LSU wins in New Orleans AND wins the 2012 nail biter against Bama, that’s 3 straight vs Saban AND back to back NCs. Alabama is the LONE reason LSU didn’t go back to back in ‘11 and ‘12. Maybe not the lone reason…Les deserves a lot of blame.

This makes me sick how freaking close this program was from becoming a dynasty. One play - Oklahoma State field goal should have been good no OT or they should have canceled the game after the death of the volleyball team from the plane crash that Thursday. We beat Ok state by a minimum of 17.

One play from beating Bama in 2012. If honey badger wasn’t kicked off the team ala Johnny Manzel for the same shite he wouldn’t have blitzed and got caught on that screen pass by Yeldon. We play Notre Dame and win our 4 title in 10 years. Dynasty.

Not even counting how close we were from winning it all in 2006

I'm intrigued by the idea that 2011 NC might have changed the trajectory the next few years

Real question. What happens when you get down votes? Anything?

I'd take 2011 bc of the above, and it would've also been the greatest of all time season.
2019 was the greatest of all time season.

Half of LSUs opponents in 2019 were top 10 opponents and LSU wiped the floor with most of them and went 15-0. Many don’t realize LSU won 7 games that year against the top 10. It would never be matched again if not for the expanded playoffs beginning.

Tell you what. I’ll step up to the plate.

Give me beating the shite out of the gumps in the 2011 NCG. AND give me wins over the gumps in 2012 and 2014 like we should have had. Let those seasons play out after that. Then I’ll make that 2019 trade.

You’ve essentially cut off the gump dynasty and maybe Saban leaves for Texas. And 2019 may play out essentially the same with Joe Burrow transferring. And remember, Miles hired Aranda.

But yeah, as someone said, a lot of moving parts here.

How many other fanbase would NOT want a National Title because it means the coach doesn’t get fired

The only way Les would still be the coach at LSU is if he turned things around and was competing at a high level. 2011 was 12 years ago. Bobby Bowden was pushed out 10 years after his 2nd NC, 9 after his run of 14 straight top 4 seasons and he built FSU from nothing. At worst Woodward would have ousted Miles but he probably doesn’t last past 2016 at the trajectory the program was on.

I think if LSU wins in 2011, we have momentum in 2012 and repeat. I think it changes the dynamic of the Bama game - Les was 3-2 against Saban before the title game, and had he won, would've been 4-2 and LSU would have Les/LSU would be 2 to 1 in titles in the Saban era. If LSU wins in 2012, Les is 5-2 against Saban, and LSU is 3-1 in titles. The whole landscape could have changed. (I know, all what ifs...)

I was also a student at LSU in 2011 so winning then would have been incredible. It was a LONG walk out of the Superdome that night.

All of that being said, winning it all in 2019 was extra special. We had a HEISMAN WINNING QB which felt impossible at LSU. The team is largely considered the greatest of all time.

I am taking 2019 in this one.

No, because that season is the only thing that allows me to stomach Ed's tenure that ran the program into the ground.

No! We didn’t deserve 11 even though I didn’t think Bama should have been there. 19 was a once in a lifetime season. Boy we would be unstoppable with that defense this year.

No, I like that LSU has won a championship in each format. That tradeoff would give us 3 BCS titles and 0 4-team playoff titles.

I would trade 07 for 11 and a 2012 win against bama.
