Part of what made 2019 so special was because of what happened in 2011. 2003 will always be special because it was the first but we didn’t know we were going until the last day. 2007 we didn’t know either because we lost twice but in 2011 we were #1 much of the year and after 11/5 we were the story that whole year. I felt the sports Gods owed me 2019, a better version of that because of Burrow and the Heisman. It gave me closure for 2011. So in retrospect no I wouldn’t trade it.

Maybe the dumbest thread of 2023.

I don't know man. I don't think winning that game stops Bama from winning in 2012. I think their run picks right back up.

Miles was still running that offense and he wasn't going to stop. Especially not after it won him a national championship.

Hell no. That season was more special than any of Saban or Kirby’s titles.

No, but it’s harder than people think. 2011 was my senior year of college so winning that year would have been awesome.

Overall I’m with you but I think an interesting argument is which was the more dominant team prior to the NC game.

2011 just absolutely destroyed teams. Every single week. The closest regular season game besides bama was msu at 19-6.

2019 has (relatively) close calls with Texas-7 auburn-3 and bama-6. In real time those didn’t feel THAT close but nonetheless

Both had generational units 11-D 19-O lead by a transcendent player in Mathieu and Burrow, but I think 19 was a more complete team. I feel like the 19 defense was a better defense than the 11 offense was an offense. A lot of the blow outs in 11 were boosted by defense and special teams TDs. It’s hard to count on those in the long run. We blew UGA out in the SECCG despite having on 13 1st downs and less than 250 yds.

The 19 defense had some struggles but no one ever had the ball with a chance to take the lead on us in the 4Q. OM was annoying but mostly garbage time stats for OM. Texas did get hairy. Bama the score and stats are skewed a little with the 85 yard last TD.

Ultimately though i don’t think I’ve ever seen a more dominant game than the 2019 Peach Bowl.

Damn at this point in time you have 120 downvotes and zero upvotes. I really don't think that is warranted so here's your first up vote you're welcome

Really hard, 2011 broke me for a while. But it also helped teach me that is just a game after witnessing that in person…. I can let losses go now. I was just furious that nothing else was tried to do ANYthing different.

2019 my mom died and it was very emotional season on all fronts. I went to almost every game home and away. Nothing will take those memories away.

2011 could have greatest CFB defense of all time. Plus it could have changed the future

LSU fans got to fire a coach and win a Championship...and then fire that Coach 2 years later! Nothing can be better than that!

the hurt makes the wins better

Tvilletiger-that’s my mantra. OP posed a great question, but the reality is always the best outcome. Not to get too much into existentialism or any philosophy. 2019 is great, maybe the greatest CFB season ever by a team, but to us, it’s made greater by our experience in 2011.
Those feelings aren’t cheap. They are earned.
