Well the money recruits the players in the new era and UNC just committed 20 mil for recruiting. Secondly, Ryan Clark, I know I know, just said that people his age, guys BB coached were begging him to take them with him to UNC and it’ll be those guys doing the recruiting. This “he can’t relate” narrative is just an irrelevant talking point pushed by debate media.

I personally do not think a school like LSU should have hired him. I also don't think anyone on this board knows how good he will be. It seems like he is bringing an NFL style approach to the team, which could work out. I would bet the majority of this board, myself included, thought Deion would fail at Colorado.

If we needed a place hold yes, But CBB is board and looking for work in a warmer climate. You are not building a program around him.

Wait a damn minute. Bill is an old white guy. Didn’t Ryan notice or is it ok bc he will have a bunch of young African Americans coaching for him? Or so Ryan Clark assumes?
Either way, it’s a racist hire.

Brady carried Bellichick, Brett Favre carried Curley Hallman, Aaron Rodgers carried McCarthy, Burrow carried Orgeron....need I go on!
Why didn’t Dan Marino carry Shula?
Brady did not carry Bellichick; what you had there was a great QB and a great coach. Having gone through my productive career I am a believer that we all have a shelf life. By the time Brady moved on, Bellichick’s shelf life was over.

Absolutely not. He's been average to bad without Brady, he's old, has no interest in recruiting, and still wants a low buyout so he can go back to the pros. His buyout drops to 1mill this summer. He could leave without even going through a fall camp.

Bellichick and the Patriots have been a dumpster fire since Brady left for Tampa and then retired. Bellickick was a good DC...HC not so much.

I think I addressed that in the post to which you responded.

I believe if we weren’t in the contract situation with BK we should have definitely jumped on that.
frick no we shouldn't have jumped on that. UNC is living on retreads right now after hiring Mack Brown away from ESPN and now the same with Belichick. This dude has no business getting a college head coaching job at this point in his career. He'll coach for 3-4 years and either retire again or get fired.

I would not have taken him. I'm over these teams recycling these coaches regardless of whether it's college or pro.

He could depart and leave LSU with talented coordinators and potential young HC that could thrive at LSU for years.
Sounds similar to what was likely said when Bill Arnsparger departed from LSU. Just my thoughts.

He used to coach at a military academy . I did not know about the deal for his son . That is a bit much IMHO .

Yes . He could handle the NIL / portal wild west and evaluate talent .

No he’s too old, no college recruiting and a defensive coach.

I guess Brady put together those Patriot defenses that had players like Ty Law, Richard Seymour, Willie McGinest & Teddy Bruschi, etc., right?
I love how so many people have become so blinded by Brady's 7 rings that they now have forgotten about the teams & game plans Belichick delivered to get Brady 6 of those rings. All they want to focus on are the last years in New England yet history shows us time in time again that even previous dynasty organizations in football have ugly endings.
Both Belichick & Brady benefited off of each other's greatest. Without Belichick's masterful defensive game plans, the Patriots don't get past the Peyton Manning Colts as many times as they did. Those Colts offenses were loaded. Manning, Edgerrin James, Marvin Harrison, a solid offensive line & then later on Reggie Wayne & Dallas Clark. The Patriots didn't just win those playoff games against the Colts. They routinely beat Manning up by fooling him which was difficult to do.

It’s funny how ppl think Brady carried what we know now as the greatest coach of all time, he was a defensive mastermind, complete opposite side of the ball as Brady. Did Brady help? Absolutely, but don’t undermine what got them there first few superbowls, defense.

His dad coached at UNC as well. Belichick brought his dad's old sweater to the press conference & held it up.
