Your putting words in cWW mouth. He said this is not student athlete welfare. That could mean a variety of things. He was just saying if the NCAA is so concerned about every student athletes welfare then be fair and balanced when making out the schedule.

Your reading too much into it

LSU will not get back to Baton Rouge from the Wednesday night late road game until Thursday morning about 3am-4am.
Why does this time get later and later as the thread goes on.

LSU BASKETBALL CHARTERS A PLANE.
THE TEAM WILL BE HOME BY 12:30 AT THE LATEST.

You guys can be such drama queens. Will Wade is a pampered snowflake.

Although I don't have a problem with him fussing about the schedule, you have to play 2 days apart in the NCAA tournament and less for SEC tournament. It shouldn't be that big of a deal.

LSU plays at Florida tomorrow night at 8 PM. Our players get home at 2-3 AM Thursday morning. They are then more limited on Thursday due to the late night and shorter recovery time. Normal Friday practice, ready to play Saturday morning.

Doing the math, the short turnaround makes up 2% of the SEC basketball schedules, but somehow LSU gets 2 out of 3 and both of them start with road games? There’s no reason that should happen.
Look, I agree that the SEC should do their best to equalize things like this, but TV throws a wrench into things.

And let's be honest, this isn't a back-to-back issue like the NBA, where they play on consecutive nights. College kids have no problem "recovering" from a Wed night game in time for a Saturday noon game. It's just not a legitimate issue for the players.

Besides, for the SEC tournament, player have to play on consecutive days, and if it's a team that plays the first day and they keep advancing to the final, they would have to play 5 days in a row. Yet nobody bitches about that.

College legs can handle it.

Two hours. It’s two fricking hours.

You are really really not smart.

Its the latest possibly midweek game on the road in the eastern time zone.
Its the earliest possibly weekend game at 11 am.

You couldn't possibly have less time between two games, and this has happened to LSU TWICE and it hasn't occurred for any of the other 13 schools once.

I think his point is more so this is the 2nd time this is happening to us and it happens to 0 other SEC teams.

Most everyone in tournament settings are on similar schedules.

WW needs to just shut up and coach the players! Sounds like he's complaining so he has an excuse when his team loses!

separated by two full days, and only 1 is on the road. Come on, fella, this isn't a big deal. All this angst makes us look like whiners.

That said, I do agree that the SEC should try to equalize things like this across all conference teams, but I suspect TV plays a role.

Why didn't he raise this issue when it first was scheduled? It sounds to me like he's looking for an advance excuse for a loss.

Because they are "flex time" games that aren't scheduled far in advance.

I don't think he's looking for an excuse. He is just speaking up to bring attention to this BS, so hopefully the SEC won't pull the same stunt of only doing it to LSU again next year.

Settle down.
Sankey has heard talk of some possible unfairness to LSU and will not sleep until this perceived injustice is remedied.

They will not be home by "12:30 at the latest". I mentioned 2 AM in OP, b/c that's what The Advocate reported:

LSU basketball SID Kent Lowe figures the earliest the Tigers will get back to campus from Gainesville will be 2 AM Thursday morning.

When this same setup of LSU having latest game on Wed./earliest game on Saturday turnaround time a few weeks ago against Vandy and Auburn, both of those games were on the road.
