SEC is sticking it to LSU yet again, and Coach Wade is rightfully pissed. LSU plays late game at 8 Wednesday at Florida, then early game at 11 Saturday vs. A&M. This is the second time this has happened, after having to play late Wednesday game at Vandy, and early Saturday game at Auburn.

LSU is the ONLY team in the conference that's had this type of turnaround involving a road game, now TWICE. Auburn had it once, but both were home games. For LSU, 3 of 4 are on the road. How is this scheduling by the SEC fair? Sure looks like they're targeting Wade and LSU.

This sucks and is totally f'ed up. Props to our fearless leader for speaking out on this BS shafting, sticking up for his players, and having the balls to tell it like it is.

We’re the only team in the league that has to do this, and we’ve had to do it twice now. That’s not how it’s supposed to be. The schedule is supposed to be balanced. This isn't balanced. This isn't right.

We’ve had three out of four road games with this same setup and it cuts our guys’ preparation time down. We talk about student-athlete welfare and all that. This is not student-athlete welfare. It needs to get fixed for our players.

I don’t think any coach in the league would be happy. It just so happens it’s me and I got to stick up for LSU, and I got to stick up for our players and our program. So, I noticed it the first time we did it, but for us to have it happen twice in one year is awful cold.

While i agree with him for competitive advantage reasons, using it for student athlete welfare is pretty laughable. The time of the game on saturday has very little impact on student athlete welfare

So the players have Thursday and Friday to recover and prepare. What exactly is the problem? It's not like they are playing a late Wednesday night game and have to get up the next morning for an 11am game.

I see way Will is upset we play the last SEC game of the weekdays on the road then have to come back and play the first SEC game of the weekend. We basically lose a day of preparation because of travel.

Hes simply pointing out the clear HYPOCRISY of the NCAA & Conference reps that love to blame "SA Welfare" for the ridiculous rules, regulations & other nonsensical BS BUT then show their true colors by doing things like this thats clearly a detriment to SA Welfare!

I agree with him, hes just sticking up for LSU, his team & players. They need to be called out & forced to defend the obvious punitive crap against CWW & LSU!

LOVE ME SOME CWW!!

The problem is ZERO other SEC teams have been put at the same disadvantage with effects of travel/such a short period of turnaround time between games.

If there were other teams that had to do this, it would be a different story, but that's not the case. It's only LSU. They're basically losing a day of game prep.

I'm not saying these guys can't handle it. But it's unfair when no other teams are having to go through this same type of routine.

Vanderbilt is basically doing the exact same thing this week, except their Wed game is at home and Sat. game is on the road.

And.....the OP's post points out that NO OTHER SEC team has to do this TWICE. Does Vandy have to do this TWICE ?
It seems your reading comprehension is lacking, doesn't it ?

So then it ISN'T the same disadvantage AT ALL. Vandy doesn't have to fly home at 2AM on Thursday morning since they are at home. Both of LSU's games are road games.

The first time this was true (Vandy to Auburn)... But this time they are coming home for A&M.

Not that it makes that big of a difference, but yeah your point remains, going away to home/away is very different from going home to away

Great. Sounds fair since every team has equal preparation for games. How this relates to LSU being the only team to have atrocious scheduling in SEC vs every other teams scheduling is lost on me.

How is it a detriment to their welfare? During the sec tourney, if you keep winning, you can play up to 5 days in a row. In this instance you have the same amount of time off as the first and 2nd weekend of the ncaa tourney first two weekends set of games. I concede still that it is a competitive disadvantage because it crushes our prep time. But not a welfare issue, unless you are naive enough to believe these kids cant handle 2 games in 3.5 days

There is a routine and a certain number of hours of prep that happens before every matchup. Of course it matters.

Another way to look at it is we may be better prepared for March.

I think his biggest gripe is this is happening with away games on Wednesday and LSU is the only team this is happening too multiple times.

Look I can understand 1 time in a season, but multiples when other teams aren't having to deal with it.

I'm OK with him complaining about this. Squeaky wheel thing you know.
