I hope he is redeemed and gets a statue. After all, we can't desecrate the Les Miles statue on campus and demand that it be taken away and melted down until we HAVE a Les Miles statue on campus.

The logic of my argument is irrefutable.

I’ll always have a soft spot for Les for the 2005-2011 run especially. They didn’t all end how we hoped but 2006, 2007, and 2011 were special seasons to be a Tiger fan. Les was a big reason for some of my favorite ever memories from college, and I’ll never forget that.

very few people merit a statue, questionable whether any athlete or coach really deserves a statue

I would definitely welcome him back with open arms. I am a forgiving person, especially to those who have won National Championships for us.

Theres a reason that old adages hang around long enough to be referred to as "old" adages.

If a guy spends his life as a priest, reverend or rabbi only to find out that hes been diddling kids, you immediately ask yourself if their career choice was a disguise to give them access to kids. Those dark actions reveal a more sinister, hidden nature of that religious leader that wipes away the "good" they did

Same thing with Les. After the rumors of why he was never welcomed back at UM, plus the 2 schools that reveal a sexual history with staff, you have to assign a darker character to him. And winning superfluous kids' games can never erase it

I’ll give Miles credit for 2007 in spite of the fact that the groundwork was already in place. I can’t forgive him for that night in Jan/12. Swap Miles & Saban and we easily win that NC because A) those players wouldn’t have been on the 2011 Bama roster without Saban, B) with the exception of the NC game, that LSU team, and certainly that defense, deserved better than COACH Miles, and C) Saban wouldn’t go into a NC game without a plan.

Dak Prescott on LSU’s roster, AT QB, from 2012>2015 and we’d have competed for another. We’ll never know because Miles didn’t believe that Dak could play QB for LSU. Russel Sheppard was a much better athlete than Daniels but Les wouldn’t give him a shot at QB. And his in game management, definitely clock management, was as bad as we’ve seen. So…no statue for Les. We won a lot in spite of him.

Actually, Joe Burrow gave us the greatest season ever. Ed was a spectator to the performance.

Joe Burrow is to Ed Orgeron as
Brett Favre is to Curly Hallman

And we know what kind of coach Curly was.

Probably not… had a nice signed football and lsu car flag signed (and framed) by les… friend had the flag signed when out hunting with him.. personalized it… replaced the football with a joe signed one and framed flag picture put in the back of the closet with the football…

Maybe one day… but the stories about life choices…idk… surprised me…

I don’t think he needs redemption and he definitely doesn’t deserve a statue.
He had some great moments, won us a championship and got us to another…he was done 2-3 years before we fired him which I think is the thing that tarnished his legacy the most…hard to forgive him for not giving Lee a chance in the BCS bowl but I’m grateful he was our coach for the most part…and very grateful he is no longer here…if he were to be honored at halftime of a game, I’d cheer for him…

Les wasted a shite ton of talent. His record may be solid but our offenses were not.

I wish Les would have been outed for being the creep that he is while he was still coaching at LSU...That would've been glorious. Not a chance in hell that he'll ever get a statue.

I highly doubt people will forget those seasons in 10 years. His record is what it is, including the years he phoned it in.

correct. Les won a lot of games, but relative to the talent he had, he underachieved

And, of course, we now know he was a sleaze ball.

I will definitely remember 2020 and 2021 for as long as I live. It is the best example ever of a guy who was destroyed by his own success.

I have a much bigger grudge against Arnsparger than Miles but people seem to like Arnsparger.
