Les Miles is the only coach in college football who wouldn’t pull their starting QB in the national championship game b/c they couldn’t cross midfield and put in a senior QB backup who was 8-0 as a starter that year.

statue no, but he will be remembered more fondly as time goes on.

The only normal people in this world are the people you DON’T know very well.

I hope never but really don’t care. He will always be a fool and a fake to me.

statistically he is the best coach in LSU history.

I don’t think anyone is saying there is evidence being a reasonable doubt that he has committed a crime. I can take the allegations, along with rumors of his time at Michigan, and make my own conclusion that he is probably a bit creepy and/or sleazy.
I think that's fair. I started hearing things about him and creepy flirtations with young females back around 2013 and more since some allegations went public. But it was all second hand gossip. But also, there was a lot of it.
But as you say there is nothing beyond a reasonable doubt. However, there is enough of it to where bringing him back for a nostalgic tribute would be awkward and difficult for many reasons.

I like to listen to the coach's shows. After listening to Saban for 5 years, it did not take long for me to have a negative opinion of Miles. He was so bad, I thought it was an act.

He's a tiger legend and should be admired in BR
No. Being admired in BR goes, or should go, beyond just W/L record.

Same for the Gridiron Club, he was awful relative to his predecessors.
And I think for a while as you suggest, the narrative was that it was an act - maybe a Columbo-like ruse. But I saw him in enough situations where IMHO that was just who he was, not an act.

given a statue one day
For what?
Ever since that frickin Michigan plane landed at the BR airport the fricker took LSU to the cleaners for millions all the while promising for too many years to put a passing game into his offense.
He cost LSU more championships than he won.

Allegations...there is allways two sides of the story

Only if the chicks all say they were lying.

Are you confusing him with Ed? Most LSU fans are thankful for Les but understood it was time for change. He’s not some public enemy around Baton Rouge
Les Miles is not just an outcast here, but also in general (justified or not). How many times have you seen him as a guest anywhere or on TV after he was fired from Kansas following the Title IX stuff coming out? Zero. Before that, he was popular with the general public and could have had some kind of TV personality gig.
People like Ed. He is welcomed in places. He was making poor personal decisions in addition to coaching decisions and needed to be fired quickly, but Ed was able to do what Les never was never able to do and that's have an offense that maxed out on LSU's talent while going undefeated. Les had a great record, but the Title IX stuff probably assures that he won't be welcomed back at LSU anytime soon.

Les and Ed are flawed humans but LSU legends that should always be welcomed at LSU. Only 4 coaches in LSU history have won national championships.

With how woke the university and country currently is there's no chance at all. He got canceled by LSU.

Thats a no from me. Ed Oeaux was much bettwr than Les Miles as a head coach of Lsu but after winning a title at lsu they both kinda lost their way, lost that aggressive style of coach and recruiting so no statues til u can prove sonething and no football coach at Lsu has proved shitt yet to have a statue in their name. Not yet but their could be definitely could be

Will you ever get over it if they do not?
Posted on 12/17/22 at 11:33 am to boudinman
I wanted him gone after 2009 and it had nothing to do with his groping ways.

He doesn't need redemption in Tigers fan eyes. Some will always hate him, Some respect what he accomplished and appreciate him.
I'm in no position to judge. I'm far from perfect. I really don't have this pristine record to hold other people to my standards. I am mature enough to separate poor decisions and past behavior from a person. I can hate the mistakes, and still root for a person.
He's not unlike any human, IMO. Flawed, imperfect with good traits as well, as it varies with us all.
It's all or nothing with immature people. Why not both? Appreciate what he accomplished here, his funny moments, risk taking early in his coaching career and sticking up for his players, but not be on board with poor decisions IF allegations are true.
He seemed to be a family man, his wife hasn't left him - so perhaps as message board masters, we don't see the whole picture. Just maybe...
