Half of it is sarcasm and trolling. I enjoy it for what it is.

Mainly because we are struggling with mediocre teams that are just starting their season like us

Our talent is better than that….its not like these teams have more games under their belt

Because it's SB. Not because it's meaningless.

One question….have you watched any other ranked teams play? I’ve watched several lose to abysmal programs. It happens all the time. It’s about the long haul….dude that’s baseball.

Losing to Stony Brook by the #1 college baseball team in the known universe, is unacceptable and shocking

Hitting wasn't there today, but wind played a part as well. Just wasn't the Tigers day, it happens. Now if they look in a funk over the next couple of games as well, I may start to be concerned, but certainly not going to push the panic button in February!!

Because it's TD. We lose, and everything's horrible, all the coaches have to be fired, and the players don't deserve to wear an LSU jersey.

Does that about cover it? That happens every year, even before TD.

You're right, there are no meaningless games. But the outcomes of some like today are pretty meaningless in the grand scheme. You don't learn a whole lot about your team, both as individuals and as a collective--when you roll everybody 15-2. This team is completely different from last year, and Jay needs to see how guys handle different situations, who can come in with the bases loaded, no outs and throw strikes in a 1-run game, who make huge defensive plays late in close games to keep a 1-run game from turning into 3 or 4 run games, who give you good at-bats down 3 in the 9th when you have to do whatever it takes to get on base to bring the the tying run to the plate, etc...

Jay just needs to see a bunch of guys in a bunch of different situations in close games in February and March to see how they respond, so he'll know who can trust and who he can't later in the season when the stakes are significantly higher. And to see how they all respond the next day after a disappointing loss to a team they were expected to beat. Of course you want to win every game you play. It's better to learn lessons in wins. But you're not gonna win them all and there are lessons to be learned in losses. So yeah, the outcome of a game against Stony Brook on February 23rd is going to wind up being pretty meaningless in the overall picture of the season. But the GAME was not meaningless because of the lessons learned by both Jay and the players.
