While stationed at Fort Polk in late 80s, I would listen to LSU baseball on clock radio. Hawthorne

Geaux.com got me through some very rough days at children’s hospital when my kid was there long term. Streaming games when you couldn’t get them on the radio.

That was 90s.

Same here. The thing that sticks with me the most is Antonini's emotion. Still gives me chills. We also got shots of Sandy Bertman, Todd Walker's dad and Armando Rios' brother.

Here the bottom of the 9th of the 93 Long Beach game

You know what I see?

No pitch count and the game is moving on at great pace. Pure raw emotion. Nothing manufactured or forcing the action.

Really miss those days.

Losing to Stanford on a grand slam still hurts.

Didn't the Saints draft the kid that hit grand slam?

That was Paul Carey who ended up being a teammate of Ben's on the 1993 Orioles. Paul's younger brother Jim, was an NHL goalie

It was a rarity when LSU wasn't at Omaha during Skip's regime.

Seemed like Texas, OSU, USC, Miami, FSU, ASU, and Stanford were in it every year. Occasionally an SEC team such as MSU would make an appearance.

I remember Wichita State and Arizona State. Didn't UNO play in the Series in the early 80's?

I remember them playing (and beating) the Maine Black Bears in '86. Skip put LSU Baseball on the map- and it hasn't left since.

Didn't they have a brother on that same Stanford team?

Frank, maybe?

late 1980s my little sisters' dance recitals were always on a regional weekend and my dad actually used to get away with sitting in the audience with his walkman radio on. Worked pretty good until something good or bad happened and my dad would shout louder than the music
