late 1980s my little sisters' dance recitals were always on a regional weekend and my dad actually used to get away with sitting in the audience with his walkman radio on. Worked pretty good until something good or bad happened and my dad would shout louder than the music

Prayers for your daughter. Going to be a long road. Also, don't know if you in BR, but just replying to the information regarding needing to go elsewhere. He probably is not aware there is a St. Jude Affiliate clinic at OLOL Children's - will get some therapies at St. Jude in Memphis if that is the route you go and then able to continue therapies and follow up closer to home. Nothing against Vandy (I trained there in pediatrics and also fellowship there in a peds specialty (not oncology) and I have friends who are peds oncologists at UAB. Great places, just no need to live in another state longer than you need. Seek as much information as you can, but you can feel good about the resources here.
ETA, also agree with the treatment for childhood cancer is very protocolized and based on diagnosis and staging, cancer centers use the same treatment protocols.
