I believe it is SID or someone from his office. That is the way it is in other athletic departments I've worked with.

He gives out a ton of hits for what should be errors.

Katz got a single and error instead of a double and RBI. Terrible.

I don't know, but whoever operates the scoreboard is amazingly fast with the calls.

It seems like he and the umpire are thinking the same thing.

This is correct.

He tends to favor the hitters...gives base hits where errors could be given.

Rhymes gets so many hits that should be errors.

Chris did it too? I know that Joe Macaluso did it for years, even well after he stopped working full-time for the Advocate.

I am ok with that. I'd prefer Raph or another Tiger win the SEC batting title because of our hack. It's much better than a Gator or Gamecock being the top hitter because their scorer was more "generous" than ours!

At the old Box, when Chris scored a game, some entitled Gold Seat fan came up to him and was bitching about some scoring decision that Chris made during the game. Without haste, Chris told the guy in his loud big dude voice to shut up, go back to his seat, and to never speak to him again. I think that was the last time someone ever made the mistake of questioning one of his scoring decisions...

I think it's a lot different and better now with the TVs in the press box and instant replays at every game...the scorer has the benefit of taking a second look if he needs to
