nd if you don't, it's a freakin ball - regardless of where the pitch is located.

i'm not saying that...but if the bat goes forward, you swung.

TigerCub - you follow the Cubs pretty close?

Definitely. Going see them at Minute Maid in a couple of weeks against the Astros right at the end of spring training.

Nice, I live in Houston, so I will definitely be going. I think I am just going to go to the Friday night game. I'm listening to their Spring Training game right now...pretty sad, I know.

I watched one of the games the other day. MLB.TV is wonderful.

I don't think errors should be eliminated. I just think it should be scored as a hit AND an error. Any score is a combination of one team succeeding and the other failing.

For example, in football, if a qb throws a td to a wide open wr, both players still get credit for the throw, catch, and yardage.

The point of it being an error and not a hit is that it wouldn't have been a hit if there wasn't an error.

Would it have been a touchdown if the receiver had been blanketed?

Stop trying to compare two different sports.

If there's an error it's not a hit because it wouldn't have been a hit.

The WR could still out jump everyone and catch the ball.

And Mark Laird could still outrun a fielded ball to 3rd.

If it looks like the runner would have beaten the throw or potential throw it'll be ruled a hit. Stop.
