One of the craziest parts about this whole thing is that Pickett is a hell if a player, Freshie all American last year… it’s not like they gave 5 to a gunner on punt returns or anything.

This is all nonsense. JD had a monster season at LSU, won a Heisman, high draft pick and multi-millionaire. LSU has done nothing but praise his accomplishments here. To get bent over a number is such a childish and selfish move. To issue a cease and desist is a punk move.
Maybe the Az St players were right about him. LSU pulled him out of obscurity and gave him the training and resources to be great.

Your post presupposes that Daniels or his mom cares anything about LSU or Louisiana, which they clearly don't.
Some people only care about what LSU can do for them, not what they can do for LSU.

Florida has done this with Tebow's number. A number should be a number and the jersey (number and name) should be what is retired.
