I agree but LSU has been raking the portal too and have more depth and overall team talent. Not sure how FSU has an argument to be over LSU just from being favored ACC champs in a much weaker conference. Doesn't matter anyway, will be decided week 1.

Yes we are.

I'll say pre-season somwhere between #8 and# 12 ish.

And Bama, because "Bama" will be ranked ahead of us but because we have so much coming back and a bunch of great pieces coming in, we actually have a better roster than they do.... I believe.

FSU will be ranked right around us as well. Probably a litle higher, and like someone above mentioned, it'll be hyped as hell.

Next season is gonna be fun guys.

My guess

1. UGA - will lose their starting QB
2. BAMA - will lose their starting QB
3. Mich - may lose their HC
4. OSU - will lose their starting QB
5. Tenn - will lose their (regular) starting QB
6. CLEM
7. TCU - will lose their starting QB
8. USC
9. PSU - will lose their starting QB
10. FSU
11. LSU
12. UTAH

Alabama, Georgia and Ohio St will get the benefit of the doubt despite QB losses. Michigan will get the benefit too if Harbaugh stays. Tennessee and TCU are "newcomers" to national relevance who will both lose a lot of good players from this year's rosters. They won't get the benefit of the doubt with Heisman candidate QBs gone. That leaves Clemson, USC, FSU and LSU. Clemson's "star" is fading a bit right now. USC will return the Heisman winner, but their record from this season doesn't look all that impressive. Their best wins were against good, but not great, UCLA and ND teams. The last impression the voters have of them is a blowout loss to Utah with a playoff spot on the line and blowing a lead against "overmatched" Tulane. FSU's best win was LSU...then a fight to beat the worst Oklahoma team in a long time. Obviously, they will return several players. But can you say they return more key players than LSU? I wouldn't. Plus, I think the voters won't penalize LSU for a loss in Kelly's first game at the school given that LSU got MUCH better as the season goes on.

For LSU, maybe the regular season game of the year was their win over Alabama...which gave them the West title in a year they were picked to finish 5th. The thought being, if they can win the SEC West with what may be the worst team BK will have at LSU...what can they do in year two? Finally, the last impression the voters have of them is destroying Purdue in the most lopsided bowl result of the year.

Voters put a lot of value (sometimes too much) on returning starting QBs. LSU has one who, while LSU fans are divided on, the nation sees as having a good season this year. Frankly, I would be a bit surprised if LSU isn't ranked in the top 5.

Behind aTm, but that always seems to work itself out.

I agree.

Strong bowl win. Good recruiting class and portal class. Most starter’s return. BK 2nd season.

I don't think Clemson is going to start out that high.

It really doesn’t matter. We weren’t ranked this past year preseason. It all works out as long as they take care of business like they did this year

absolutely irrelevant. Voter polls, especially polls at the beginning or early part of the season, are a joke. The only ranking that matters is the final Playoff Selection Committee's ranking. That's it.

Why do y’all get so butt hurt over polls not mattering? Everyone knows the playoff poll is the only one that matters. The early polls give
People something to talk and debate about: always that one person to remind you they don’t matter. Yea, no shite.

9-13? I’m betting probably one or two outside of top 10

You mean in the irrelevant polls that mean absolutely nothing whatsoever or the CFP poll that comes out in November?

Yeah I'll say between 8-12. Think Florida State will be ranked ahead of us too.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Whether or not Georgia is successful in winning back-to-back national titles on Monday, I still have the Bulldogs as the team to beat in 2023.

The Bulldogs rank No. 1 in Action Network’s Way-Too-Early Top 25 rankings of 2023. Rounding out the top five are No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 Florida State and No. 5 Ohio State.
...

The remainder of my top 10 consists of No. 6 LSU, No. 7 Penn State, No. 8 Washington, No. 9 Clemson and No. 10 Oregon.

Here's another:

1 Georgia

2 Michigan

3 USC

4 Tennessee

5 Ohio State

6 Washington

7 Alabama

8 TCU

9 LSU

10 Florida State

...

Brian Kelly had an impressive first season with the Tigers, including an upset victory over Alabama. Look for them to build off that season next year.

The advocate writer predicted we would be 16th to open the season in his New Year’s Day article

I would think top 5.
LSU returns most of the team, and that would be the next step after this season.

Those pre season polls and AP and coaches polls are irrelevant
