I was driving home from work listening to a man on Youtube that has usually been pretty good at giving out informative content on college basketball over the years. Today was his breakdown of the SEC. He spent the bulk of his time discussing 5-6 teams, mentioned some of others, but never mentioned LSU. I’m interested in our basketball fans opinions on what kind of team are we going to have this year?

Will be a tournament team. Probably Round of 32 or Sweet 16 team if the cards fall right. The loss of Adam Miller hurts bad. He would’ve probably been our leading scorer, one of our best defenders, and one of our best shooters. Still a good bit of talent on the roster. Pinson and Gaines will be key.

I’m hoping for Sweet 16 assuming we don’t get screwed on seeding again.
Ceiling is better than that if all comes together. Floor is high as anything outside of being a part of the dance would be disappointing.

The transfer from Illinois is out for the season? Sorry I’m not familiar with the new players names yet.

Losing Miller takes us out of anything past the Sweet 16 IMHO

Obviously a ton of things will happen and won’t happen that can change but Miller was going to be a stud for us

I honestly felt we were a Final 4 caliber team till Miller went down. Now more like Sweet 16. Having 6 frosh on the roster will make it tough for a deep run. We are a very inexperienced squad.

PhilllyTiger the guy I was listening to on YouTube I believe is from the Philadelphia area and I believe his name is Jeff Nadu or something along those lines. Goes by the name Big Man On Campus. I was kind of surprised he didn’t mention LSU because when you do a conference breakdown one would think he would discuss all 14 teams not 13 teams.

I think LSU can finish 3 or 4 in the SEC, make the NCAA Ty, and maybe win one or two games. Given what we lost from last season, that would be good. That kind of finish keeps us consistent as a top 4 SEC team each year. (We are NOT predicted to be top 4 in the SEC this season.)

Making the NCAA Tournament would be the goal and winning a few games will be great.

The expectations for LSU basketball are not as high as football and baseball and if Will Wade can keep LSU in the tournament every season we will eventually make a deep run and may even win a championship one day

It would be higher if the Illinois transfer had not gotten hurt, that one stings, but I still see this as a tournament team.

It’s a ceiling that is limited by the fact that it’s basketball.

Even at number 1, it’s like being the cleanest bathroom stall at the Greyhound bus station.

Losing Miller HURTS. I watched that Kid this summer with the Team USA 19U. He is a difference maker. The kind of PG that can make a Good team a Great Team. Still see Sweet 16 with the talent we have? Key thing is with all of the new faces how quickly can they gel and become a team?

We’re gonna surprise people because we’ve added some nice defenders and rebounders on the inside. Wade has always had good offensive teams so the pieces are there just have to see how they gel.

Whose expectation is this and why would the expectation for one of the big three programs be to eventually make a run?
