#2 is not to bad to me(short hitter so laying up is always my option). But when I'm teeing off #5, I'm already thinking about 10 thru 12 and how bad it's gonna be. ??
I was told years ago by the super(Steve I think) that LSU agronomy department was not allowed to touch the golf course. Maybe they wanted it to fail. But also told that the course could only be a golf course because the person who donated the land didn't want it to be a parking lot.
I haven't played it in a while because I went there one day and they told me that they didn't have any tee times available. Only had maybe 10 cars in the parking lot and maybe that many on the course. I sat there for 20 minutes to see if anyone else would show up to fill those tee times, nobody except the 3 guys I was supposed to play with. This was the second time it happened to us but the 1st time Steve told them to let us on. May go back before the close just for the sake of it.

I work in Lafayette 3 days a week and always pass by Jay and Lionel Herbert Municipal Golf Course. I noticed every Monday they are closed for maintenance. I decided to play 9 holes yesterday and the course is in good shape. They even had a guy raking the sand traps and another one going around and filling the sand bottles on every tee box at 4pm. BREC could learn alot from them about maintaining a golf course. The only problem I saw out there was to many divots on the greens but that's on the player's part. Also had a worker going around in the fairways putting sand in the divot but that's should have been filled by the player too.

Played in November, greens were so bad that I quit after 9 holes. I hope they recover because it's one of my favorite course when conditions are good.

I have Phantom 2 and 3. Love them but gotta stop leaving them on the golf cart. So if I had to do it again I would get it in a bright color.

re: Rabbit hunting

My brother and I own 5 rabbit dogs and 3 deer dogs. I haven't hunted rabbits to much this year but I will after deer dog season. Don't have a lot of places to hunt like in the past but I just like to hear dogs running. So as long as I am able to, I will always own a pack of dogs but the number will go down as I get older
I brought a brand new in the box CVA 35 Whelen from Pelican Pawn(Sherwood Forest) about 4 years ago. No other stores had them in stock but they had several in stock and the price was better than everyone else.

Clark #5 green is the only one that looks kind of shabby.

My 2018 GMC made over 260,000 miles before I traded it in. It had the 6 speed transmission. I traded it in because it was asking for a 3rd transmission.

Played Belle Terre yesterday. Greens were ok, looks like recently been punched since could see marks. Was slow and bumpy because of that. Everything else was good. Probably was the only group out there at 1pm.

Played Cam 2 about 3 weeks ago. The greens was not in bad shape. Didn't know there were so many hills but enjoyed the course.

re: Tee height on irons for par 3

Posted by ReeseWee on 8/26/25 at 8:18 am to
I use a tee on all par 3's. Sometimes if I am in between clubs, I will tee it up higher and use the stronger club to get more height and less distance. At least that's what this old golfer told me to do.
I had my Scotty refurbished at Schneider's Golf Mechanics. He did a great job and I think it cost $150. Had a lot of dings and paint was chipped, also replaced the grip.
Just focus on a spot on the golf ball.

Well the blimp made it back over the course so that's a good sign. Looks nasty all around but haven't rain a drop yet.
