1991- first NC with Mike Sirotka, Chad Ogea, Rick Greene, Lyle Mouton so many all time favorite players!
1993- Brett Laxton as freshman dominating Wichita state!
1996- Warren Morris and the greatest walk off HR in CWS history!
But I really picked the first three because of nostalgia. I was young and I just cared more about LSU sports back then!

LeMahieu my favorite player to ever put on an LSU uniform.

The quiet killer is what my SIL said of him. Also, that he was a very nice guy.

Don’t really remember the championships prior to 09 aside from winning them. Born in 88 so all I know is LSU baseball winning

Beating UT in 09 and dog piling in my college house living room will forever be a core memory

The walk off home win in “96 can be compared to the bluegrass miracle football win over Kentucky. Both were exciting unexpected finishes but the games themselves were not that great compared to many, many other games in both football and baseball.

That's the perception because only the ending gets talked about, but it is arguably the best championship game in LSU CWS history...even if you don't consider the Morris HR. Miami took the lead with 2 in the 1st. LSU then scored 3 in the 3rd to take the lead. Miami then scored 3 in the 5th and 2 in the 6th to take a 7-3 lead into the 7th. LSU would get 2 in the bottom of the 7th to make it 7-5 going into the 8th. LSU got 2 in the 8th to tie it at 7-7 going into the 9th.

It was 7-7 in the top of the 9th when Miami had a two out rally to take the lead 8-7. It was a gut punch because LSU had fought back in the 7th and 8th to tie it, only to let it slip away with two outs in the top of the 9th. Then the bottom of the 9th happened.

LSU never trailed in the 91, 93, 97, 09, championship games. They only trailed for 1/2 an inning in both 23 and 25. The only championship game that matched 1996 in terms of drama/emotion swings was 2000 with LSU trailing 5-2 going to the 8th. That said, LSU entered the bottom of the 9th tied at 5-5, not trailing by a run like they did in 1996

You could MAYBE make a case that Games 1 in both 09 and 23 were better overall games than 1996. But neither was a do-or-die scenario like 1996

Or NOT.AT.ALL

The bluegrass miracle wasn't a compelling back and forth championship game between two great teams. It was LSU avoiding an embarrassing 2nd half collapse against a mediocre, at best, Kentucky team, due to sheer luck.
