23 - Tank's HR, Skeens, Crews, and tearing UF a new one the day after they set "CWS Records" that we immediately broke.

Tre Morgan play at home. The Wake Forest pitching dual.

That was just a magical run in Omaha from the loser's bracket. Pure cinema.

2025 was great because imo it was the best team we've ever had.

I think you would find very few LSU fans who would agree with this.

IMO, 2025 was kind of an odd season. LSU didn't necessarily enter the season with known "star power" unlike prior seasons (particularly 2023). The team wasn't exactly dominant in winning games...but they just kept winning, and winning, and winning, almost to the point where they got to the CWS and though "shite, this team may win the whole thing!"

Then the Postseason/CWS was comparatively "boring" compared to LSU's prior CWS appearances. 2023 was high drama nightly. In 2017 had to fight their way out of the loser's bracket. In 2025, but for one bad game and the first few innings of another, LSU wasn't really challenged in the regionals/SRs. In the WS LSU only trailed for a combined 4 innings, total.

96- I thought it was over. I still remember my neighbors wondering what was wrong with me as I ran outside my house yelling. Also seeing Cora lying defeated in the dirt was schadenfruede. A great sports moment.

23- it was a great CWS. Every pitch seemed to matter. LSU was loaded.

25- let's face it. LSU benefited from teams like Arkansas choking but it was fun to watch. I still can't stop watching Aloy throw to third instead of attempting the double play.

Honorable mention '97- gorilla ball

Pitching and defense were great but I would still take :
1997
2009
2023
1993

There is a good argument to be made that those teams were better relative to their competition. The 2009 team included my SIL, so I’m partial to it. It would be clobbered by the 2025 team. And that’s what my SIL says too. Same for 1997 and 1993. The talent level was nowhere near what the 2023 and 2025 teams had. College baseball in general had a huge talent upsurge since then.

1. 23 because that was the first year my son was old enough to watch it with me and care. I’ll never forget our celebrations in the living room when Tommy White walked off Wake Forest.
2. 25 similar reason
3. 96 because that was the first year I was old enough to care and I remember my mom going crazy

1) 96 - Warren Morris with the single greatest moment in CWS history. Plus, we beat a powerhouse in Miami. I never liked Miami, but that's really a compliment to them.

2) 09 - I really liked the make-up of that team. I was never much of a Mainieri fan, but after this title I started thinking that MAYBE he had LSU positioned to have a great 2010-2019 decad. Sadly, my first assessment of him ended up being correct.

3) 23/25 - I think Jay Johnson is the best baseball coach in America, and the hiccup of the 2026 season didn't change my mind one bit. The 2023 title run was incredible. That game against Wake Forest with Tommy Tanks hitting the walk-off HR was epic.

I know it wasn’t as dramatic as the others, but something about sticking it to that little chawn-tuhhh-clear ahole really made my day. 2025

I'll say 09 just because Game 1 vs Texas might be my favorite LSU baseball game of all time and because of that LeMahieu my favorite player to ever put on an LSU uniform.

The walk off home win in “96 can be compared to the bluegrass miracle football win over Kentucky. Both were exciting unexpected finishes but the games themselves were not that great compared to many, many other games in both football and baseball.
