re: What does O need to do for respect?

We know Aranda is top-notch, but we do not know IF Ensminger can develop quarterbacks at a high level, scheme great game plans, make the right adjustments when needed, and call the right plays at the right times. This is like the biggest "IF" ever. Seriously, a great OC is much, much more than most realize. It takes a very highly-skilled person to do this, especially in the sec.

Already Best Lsu sec record since 2012. But our fan base is the worst. He would best be from a state other than Louisiana for our fans to like him.

Good post and yes we have some sucky fans, wonder what the negators would be saying about herman who went 7-5 at texas his first year, if he had gone 9-4 like O did. I suspect most of the negators are barely shaving POS's

Win and the respect will come. But on a different note as a man I will never respect him after he repeatedly beat a woman. She had to get a restraining order. But in terms of respect as the football coach he just needs to win.

Yea and not only that, Herman lost 3 ballgames last season, and those were games he was supposed to win. I'm not saying Herman's not a good coach, but in reality as a head coach, he hasn't done jack shite to garner the kind of attention he got. He could be a 9 & 3 to 10 & 2 type of coach for his entire career. WE DON'T KNOW. As for Jimbo, yes, he won the big title, but he failed to sustain that level of success. Very few can do it, so I'm not trying to knock the guy. It's hard to imagine any guy on this Earth being able to come in here and go 7 & 1 in the sec every season. There is only 1 program - 1 guy - that does this every season, and I just don't believe anybody else can do it. Meyer cannot do it. Malzon can't. Jimbo can't. Sweeney probably can't. Kirby probably can't. We have to be realistic, go with what we got, and hope for the best. We'll reevaluate every year and go from there.

Just beat other SEC schools in recruiting, that is all he (or any other coach) needs to do.
There is more to winning football games than just having talent believe it or not

He was sold to us as being one of the best recruiters, so I expect a top 3 - 5 class each year. Not sure if this is happening/going to happen?
He said he'd hire only the best coordinators. Now in theory, it's sad that we have a head coach that sucks so bad he needs to cover this fact by having to hire the best coordinators...but in the end, every coach wants the best coordinators, so I guess there's nothing wrong with the sentiment. I just don't think he's fulfilling this promise.
He was hired as being the losingest coach in Ole Miss history and he still has an overall losing record. Not sure if he wins 9 or 10 games a year if this will be considered a success...at least not by me.
So unless he gets this team in the National Title game discussion this year and next, I will not gain respect for him.

Brilliant. Do even worse than what got Miles fired and he’s won your respect. Geez.
He’d better do no worse than 10-2 this year.

If winning 9-10 games wasnt enough for the previous coach then it shouldn't be enough for this coach.

Miles got fired because he was no longer putting us in a position to win the SEC. It wasn't because he was winning 10 games.
The first goal with any coach should be to win the division. Miles wasn't really coming close to that anymore.
I'll respect Orgeron if/when he's got us playing meaningful games in late November with a chance to get to Atlanta. When you start focusing solely on win totals you lose sight of the main objective...to win a championship.

Take this with a grain of salt.
I respect Les & CEO.
Personally they have accomplished more than I ever will as far as coaching goes and both of them can squash me with their wallet.
Coaches, coach and the players have to execute on the field. Just about every loss LSU has taken can be summed up with player execution. Both coach Miles & CEO have put their teams in positions to be successful only to have a player drop a pass, throw a pic, fumble or miss a FG.

Well there are a lot of jerks here. Fact is 99% of us feel the exact same way 99% of the time. A lot of folks here enjoy insulting other posters, so they're naturally going to spew venom when deep down they feel the same. LSU Football is stuck at a crossroad, and we're all just hoping for the best but often feeling that a trainwreck is coming
I think that’s the best explanation I’ve seen for the situation with LSU football. No one wants to see the team fail (at least most don’t). Hoping that the proverbial train wreck can be avoided, but sometimes feeling like it is inevitable.
