Saban was 48-16 during his tenure at LSU.
Ed Orgeron was 48-16 after his first 64 games as Tigahs coach.

Arnsparger was a great recruiter even though he may not have enjoyed it. I remember saying he was bringing in players from states we never used to get players like CA and AZ and OK. he was our first coach that was recruiting nationally than regionally. Wish he would have stayed a while.

Agree. He was really building something here. I remember being pissed when he left. He shot himself in the foot. He would have built a dynasty here had he stayed.

You can make the case so did Saban. 2000 team was stacked when Saban got here.

None of them had connections to Louisiana before coming to LSU.

Kelly left a playoff team and inherited the LSU Football Program- only CBK and DiNardo had to build up from a shell of what it once was
DiNardo- brought back excitement & recruiting prowess
CBK- brought back discipline, organization, and maturity (also the first Coach that had to deal with NIL)
Hell it ran the GOAT out of CF.

I feel like Saban single-handedly crushed Les Miles %.
I’m not doing the math, but I would think if you removed Miles vs. Saban match ups. Les would be at 90% or better.
It’s crazy how competitive both were for so long .

Les was 3-6 vs Saban in SEC games (not counting the Natty as a conference game) take those games out and you end up with a 72.8 % SEC winning percentage

Too bad Kelly didn’t win an SEC championship in his 1st 3 years at LSU like tge others did.

He did; however, it didn't last 12 seasons.

All three were coaches at LSU.

while he may not have liked to recruit, he was pretty good at it. His team in 87 that was coached by archer could have won the natty imo
Most of his and Archers talent were recruited by Stovall.
He was fired before he had a chance to enjoy the benefit of his work in recruiting.

Saban only won 75% of games at LSU. Seriously doubt that.

Miles inherited a program as talented as any in the country. The fact we didn't win a Championship in '05 or '06 is still criminal.
If Miles was not as egotistical and stubborn to adapt the offense he is likely still our Head Coach. Its been well documented he and Jimbo would be at each others throats which was problematic. Same with Crowton. still unreal

but he left LSU in a terrible position.
How many players were on the roster the day he was fired?

The '05 season was disrupted by Katrina and Rita and I think we played like 10 straight weeks going into the SECCG. Are you sure it was "criminal" that we didn't win it all?
In '06 we played four top-10 SEC road games (Auburn, UF, UTenn, and Arky). We went 2-2 in those games. IMO, we underachieved - mostly in Gainesville. But Arky only played 1 ranked SEC team (Auburn) which they won. Really crazy schedule disparity.
