re: We've only beaten one team with a winning record

There were 500000 threads about the 2015 team facing the worst rush defenses in the country.
This isn’t new or a double standard.
This is just the standard. We expect LSU to be good and to beat good teams.
We should beat bad teams too but being 1-3 vs teams with winning records is pretty bad
And I don’t know if you remember but we shite all over the 2008 team, and this team is obviously not comparable to the 2000, 2003 or 2015 teams.

Amazing how many feel slighted by your fact.

I def remember the 2015 threads you’re talking about and they were false too. The 2015 schedule was rated as a tougher schedule than 2011 but the Rant used a warped phony narrative to spin that too. The Rant will tell you the 2011 schedule was the toughest schedule in NCAA history when in fact it was the 8th toughest schedule for that season alone.

We suck. All.there is too it

As far as the 08 team yes we shite on that team but Miles didn’t get shite on like O is now. It was the co-DCs and the fact that we had to play freshman QBs that were to blame and Miles was protected. That team returned more than double the starters this team did and lost 5 games, Miles was given a pass and O is being bashed. Yes there is a huge double standard in every narrative these anti-O people come up with.

I’ll take winning over losing.

Stupidity
It wasn't a great year.
And if we win out, it won't be a bad year.
Also. Team is better today than it was 2 months ago
Does that mean anything for next year?
The correct answer is "maybe".
Acting like this season sucked is no better than acting like we're on the road to championships

but as they say, you can only play the teams on the schedule.
They say that when a team is undefeated. LSU is 1-3 vs teams with winning records.

would it be better to lose to teams with losing records?
Also why don't we credit for beating teams with winning records when we play them? Syracuse & UF
Ole miss was 3-3 when we played with losses at Cal and to Bama and Auburn

Question for those who apparently go through life looking for the negatives. What were the records of bama's opponents in their last 3 championship seasons? Ohio State's? Clemson's? Point being, no one remembers and no one cares. Only LSU fans care about such negative shite to the extent they still argue about it yrs & yrs later. Three yrs from now, will anyone care, let alone remember, how many winning teams LSU played this yr?

Good grief...
Miles had just won the fricking national title the year before...and LSU fans were declaring it as having "backed into it" because of the two losses, that he only did it because he still had some "Saban guys" on the team, and had decided he was Larry Coker. Miles got almost no credit for the title from many fans, and he was getting crucified in 2008 for having both recruited Perriloux and not controlling him enough so that he had to kick him off...for not having a viable alternative ready at QB behind him and then mismanaging the QB's we DID have since none of them were really ready to play in 2008.
By the end of 2008, Miles was 42-11 with an SECW title, an SEC title and a National Title and 4 straight Bowl Wins, including a Sugar plus the NCG. 2008 marked the first season in his tenure where his teams had won fewer than 11 games And he was HATED by a large portion of our fans...
But you're right...O's got it worse this year...

No. That's a stupid question.

You get "credit" for beating a team in the w/l column. The rest of the season informs and gives context.

Why don't u pussy's become GUMPS? Its (O)first year. Saban lost to ULM his first year at home.

if you beat a team ranked 3rd do you get credit for beating the 3rd ranked team or whatever their final ranking is?

I don’t go around looking for negatives nor am I miserable so I’m not sure if I can answer your question but I’ll give it a shot anyway.
Your question isn’t valid but not for reason you think. You’re right no one cares what a schedule was once you’ve won a championship nor should they especially now that we have a playoff. It does however matter before hand Wisconsin is undefeated but not in the top4 because of their schedule.
With O it’s not about looking for negatives it’s about analysis and looking to the future. Les Miles was the most successful coach in LSU history. He was fired because he had slipped from elite status or legitimate title contention. Many of us are skeptical that O is the man to get back there. And the reason we are skeptical is not because we love Miles and hate O, that’s a stupid lazy narrative. It’s because we look at his resume and do not see anything to make us think he can get us back there. All we have to go on is a coaches record. Obviously Os record at Ole Miss was horrendous, the counter is he learned and we can see that in his record as Interim here and at USC and now as a full time coach. But if you look at his record he’s been basically beating a bunch of bad teams and losing to good one. Counting his games at USC and LSU he has 2 quality wins: Stanford and Auburn this year. Gerry DiNardo said its easy to go from 4 wins to 10. Going from 10 to 12 or 13 is hard (please not this was when you played 11 games and a bowl). I agree with that. To get from 10-12 you need to beat the good teams And so far what I’ve seen from O looks he’ll do no better than what Miles was doing and we’ll be stuck in the 8-10 win purgatory.

Next season will say a lot about CEO imo. This year was very underwhelming with a BYU team that was a weak OOC and losses to State & Troy.

The final ranking is what matters. You can make exceptions in some circumstances like a team you played early was devastated by injuries and fell off or they lost early but by the time you played them the Fr Qb was in and they were better but those are exceptions.

No, my point is that saying Orgeron was a good or even great hire based on this season is disingenuous
There aren't many on the rant that state this. As a matter of fact most on here hate F. King Aleva for not vetting more coaches. Most on here think F. King Aleva got lazy and hired the guy already leading the Tigers to a 6-2 record though he has not shown that he can build or sustain a program at any level.
