This is kind of a shitty way to look at it because you give him no credit for beating a lot of teams he should have beaten.

Next season will be very interesting and will leave little room for Coach O to get his ducks in a row.

Oct. 13 GEORGIA
Oct. 20 MISSISSIPPI STATE
Oct. 27 Open Date
Nov. 3 ALABAMA

LSU beat Auburn when they were 10/11...now they are 6th...we get credit for beating the 10th ranked team in the history books right?

Using your logic Alabamas win over Florida State is one of the best wins in college football this year.

No you get credit depending on where they wind up, theoretically Auburn could win out and be National Champs in which case you beat the #1 team. The worst case for them is they lose to Bama and the bowl which would probably leave them btwn 10-15 anyway.

How is it my logic? If bama beat FSU and they were #1 it would go down in the history books as bama beating the #1 team in the country.

You do know how it works right? If we play a team and they are in the top 5 it counts as facing a top 5 team...it isn't corrected at the end of the year to what the teams final ranking is.

Good to see Rice is back on the schedule. They were our patsy before the whole concept of cupcakes became so entrenched. I remember a lot of 63-0 type games back in the day.

So let’s say Auburn did win out and wins the National Title you’re saying when we look back at 2017 we’d say LSU beat #10 Auburn not the eventual National Champions?
You get credit for where teams finish not where they are ranked when you play, especially early since those rankings are based on nothing but opinion.

This can work the other way as well... you can beat ranked teams during the season and let 4 of those teams you beat fall out of the top 25, you can't go back and say we best 4 ranked teams then...

of course we would say that...but in our history it wouldn't count as beating the #1 team...that can only happen if they are ranked #1 at the time you play them. When we beat bama in 2011 we beat the #2 team in the nation...not the #1 team bc they eventually won it all

First 3 weeks you get Miami and @Auburn. Better be ready day one.

Georgia will be interesting. They lose Chub and Michel. We lose Guice and Williams.

Next year comes down to what Canada can do with 2 young stud QBs and a new backfield. The D will be solid.

If you look back at a schedule that’s correct but no one really cares and when I’m analyzing a team I’m not gonna say you beat top 20 Florida or whatever when they turned out to be terrible.

I could easily see us going 7-5 or 6-6 next year.

Schedule is brutal and we lose some quality players

No, my point is that saying Orgeron was a good OR BAD hire based on this season is disingenuous, to say the least

Fixed it.

Auburn doesn't have a win against a top 5 team?

Yep. Ironically, if Miss St doesn't beat LSU (we were not a good team then) the way they did, they don't sniff the Top 25 right now.
