but did he already pocket his NIL money??? If so, I doubt that can be clawed back, unless it's paid out over time.
Most likely its paid out in monthly installments as opposed to a lump sum up front.

It makes you wonder if they were smart enough to put this in the NIL deal. I'm going to guess no which would make it even funnier. I'm only saying this because NIL is still new for everyone. Situations like this are coming up so they have to be more aware. These are not officially pay to play contracts so the question is were they smart?

They would have to have this type of language in a contract.

Lol, recovery like he's an addict. He's just an opportunistic mf who got caught. I wonder if he was actually retarded enough to bet on his own games.
I don’t understand the “addict” angle. Unless he’s blaming it on mental wellness like most do to avoid accountability.

The optics of it look worse if he truly has a gambling addiction. If so, then zero chance you throw him right back into the arena to fight those demons immediately after checking out of rehab.

Checking into rehab is 100% strategic to try and lessen the blow, not because it’s an actual issue. Dude probably put in less bets than 80% of this board.

If this was Leavitt and LSU, that article wouldn't be half as forgiving.

He bet on Indiana while at Indiana. He's done

In his defense he bet them to win while he was a redshirt fresh and not on the field. So he wasn't throwing games it appears

You think 80 percent of this board places thousands of online bets in a couple years? It’s not about the money won or lost if I’m an NFL exec, it’s about how incredibly stupid you have to be or how consumed you are with betting that you are willing to compromise ur eligibility and future over it.

This doesn’t matter if he was playing or not. Hes still on the team and knows the ins and outs of how they would match up. Dudes playing days are over and he’s a dumbass for throwing it away over a 5 dollar bet

While throwing games would be worse, it really doesn’t matter. He would have inside information on matchups, injuries, etc. He can’t do what he did. .

You think 80% of the board goes to live MLB games and live bets balls and strikes?

That’s exactly what he’s doing. It reminds me of Vrabel entering marriage counseling a whole six years after cheating on his wife.

This might carryover into the pros once he's out of eligibility

I believe he is out, meaning this was his last year because I believe he redshirted as a freshman. I would imagine with no spring portal makes for an interesting qb room for TT. It's the world and state of collegiate athletics we live in.
