None

They’ll be lucky to win more than one game

I have said it several times already he aint running this shite back with these pitchers aint no freakin way. I agree with you his top priority is the pitching. Some think guys like Rizzy and Guidry will be back im not so sure. If they are they are mid week game pitchers as far as i'm concerned

Zero chance this year. I have faith in Jay next year and will turn the ship around with some stud pitching. Need lots of NIL, however.

Even if they somehow made it past OU, I definitely don’t see them beating Auburn. And if by some miracle they beat Auburn they’d have to face an A&M team that dick slapped LSU the entire weekend. So I don’t see this run lasting very long.

They may beat Oklahoma, but that’s about it realistically

We’re going to be one and done. Don’t kid yourself.

Throw strikes and they could win some games. Unfortunately, they haven’t shown to be able to throw strikes.

0-1. 2 weeks ago I asked myself the same question about the UGA and UF series. Then we went 0-6. We will but up 8-4 on Oklahoma at some point around the 5th and then Schmidt will hit a 100 pitch count, and Jay will start going to the pen. We will then get shelled and lose 11-8.

Please tell me how you win 1 and lose two in a single elimination tournament.

Win game 1 with grit.

Starter returns and pitches great to be Auburn

After that, only chance is if we face a team that just wants to go home and rest for their regional.

Actually, with this team and this season, they might figure out a way to actually get 2 losses in the single elimination tournament.

We’ve done about every other crazy thing wrong this year.

Strange things can happen in baseball, in part because the deeper you go, the more likely you are to run into a disinterested team (one for which winning gains no real benefit and probably feels like they would benefit more from time off).

So for LSU, that probably means winning 2 games starts to feel like they have a chance. But realistically, LSU can most assuredly beat Oklahoma; they may not, but they can. Beyond that is Auburn, which may be disinterested. If they get past that, now A&M, who is likely to be looking to win one, so they don't drop below an 8 seed.

So realistically, there is an outside chance we win two, a better chance we can win 1 though.

Realistic and best case don't really fit this year. It's win it all or the season is over. Pulling for them to do it, but it is highly unlikely.

As for attracting players for next year, that will not be an issue regardless of what happens in Hoover.

Our hitters are going to score a lot of runs, but our pitchers have sucked so badly that the thought of them holding any lead is preposterous. But maybe some pitchers will improve a little bit this week, elephino.

I think best case is 1 and 1 and most likely case is One and Done.

Realistically one win. Their level of competition improves markedly in Round Two.

It's not impossible LSU could make a run-- there is precedent for this, in 2024 that team was just 13-17 and yet won 4 and made it to the final game (just lost by a run vs Tenn) and in 2010 they won the SEC in four games after a less-tgan-stellar last five weekends of the regular deason.

If we can show some signs of life and a fight - enough to attract some pitchers in the off season, I'd be happy.

Holding onto optimistic hope in the face of undeniable, insurmountable evidence. I love the attitude. But I hope you don’t have a job where you have to make important judgment calls.

Seems like Jay has put all his focus on the tournament after the USC series. I’ll say he rallies the team just enough to get the rants unrealistic expectations up on our day off on Thursday. There’ll be at least 10 threads saying we’re going to Omaha and/or winning the tournament on the 21st.

I predict we win Tuesday against OU and a surprise win against Auburn on Wednesday before losing to A&M on Friday.
