I do agree the Riverside people suck arse....so does Campus Crossings at Brightside. They towed my car from my resident parking spot while I was sleeping one night. I had no idea where my car was in the morning. Apparently my sticker peeled off because of the heat and it was laying on my dashboard.

Still had to pay them to get my car out, and the apartment wouldn’t do anything about it either.

I had a somewhat similar experience when I lived at the Venue. The best part is their exact change cash only practice.

This is what makes them so bad. It's not just that you get towed, it's that you have to have exact change and in cash. Plus for a while they were making whoever's name is on the registration (the parents in most college students' case) sign to get the car out. I drove a buddy to get his car back from them and the guy said he had to get his dad to fax over a picture of his license before he'd release the car, and if it wasn't done by the time they close (which was early that day) it'd be an extra day of fees. frick Riverside.

Gameday parking is the most defined parking I've ever seen. If they got towed, its on them.

Riverside towing
every year Riverside tows legally parked cars. Hell a few years ago Riverside got caught towing cars to the Winn Dixie parking lot, and holding them there so a car carrier could being them to the impound lot. Kept their trucks close and could tow faster. Well that is illegel. They got caught and nothing happened to them.

You’re a fricking loser if you defend a towing company

“Der der dont Park illegally, don’t break the rules der der”. No, you’re an a-hole.

I feel like that alone should be enough to shut down a tow company.

This is still bs. You are parked in a visitor spot vistitng a friend.

People used to get towed in sharlo if just a little bit of your car was sticking out the driveway. Towed, from your own house out of your driveway.

Are you white knighting for Riverside towing?
Last night during WBRZ's newscast the towing segment video showed there were signs in the parking areas of the apartment complexes where the people being interviewed parked during the game.

All of the signs said "Parking for apartment residents only. All other cars will be towed at owner's expense." (Paraphrasing here....)

Yet the "poor college kids" parked in those lots and they got towed.

I don't understand why they thought they wouldn't be towed.

I would be calling the apartment complex and say I was a visitor at the apartment complex and have an attorney send a letter for the towing company fees. You are a visitor of a tenet, parked in the visitors spot.

Get it done!

frick Riverside. Been towed by them twice

I was taking a summer class and went to go get my friend and I some lunch while he saved our table at the BEC.

I parked in front of Pita Pit, picked up my food there then walked across the street to pick up his Five Guys. I get back and my car is gone. I was furious

ETA: The other time I was parked in what I thought was visitor parking for a sorority formal pregame at Northgate. I came out and my ride was gone

Myself, along with about 30 others were waiting in line at noon Sunday to get my car.

They (used to) charge extra for "off-hours" pickup on Sunday. It would have actually been cheaper to leave it another day and pick it up on Monday. Just an FYI to anyone who may find themselves in a similar circumstance.

I’ve told this story before on here, but I “stole” my truck back from a tow truck company in the 90s. Parked at Plantation Trace at a buddies and went out. Got towed. Went to the place on Airline (can’t remember the name) the next day. The truck is sitting right there in the open. My buddy says “you’re a pussy if you don’t take it”, so I did. Dudes came running out of the building chasing me but I got away. 2 or 3 days later I got a call from my dad saying a BRPD detective is saying I stole a truck. I called the detective and explained it. He thought it was funny. He told me to go pay them and that would be the end of it. So I go to pay and the employees are furious. Several dudes staring me down. I politely paid them and left. It was absolutely worth it to see them so pissed off.
