Yeah the phone call indicates that the handler and family are quasi at odds with each other. And it sounds like the family already denied getting anything. So the two potential handlers are different parties

A guy named Bryn wrote an article stating some things we all already know, and makes a personal opinion that Wade won't be back this season.

NCAA officials questioned Smart and his family in conjunction with the university. An update should come by Friday

Hopefully the meeting is discussed at Smart’s Scottlandville house and not at the new U Club house.

The best that can come out of Wade suspension

best case is that he doesn't end up at another SEC school

LSU officials have made it impossible for Wade to return here.

Found this interesting

quote:

Without a denial of violating NCAA rules or additional context from the coach, Skinner said, the university couldn’t leave him on the bench.

“The bottom line is Coach Wade put us in this situation,” Skinner said.

I’m hoping he’s fed up with the NCAA and takes the Pels job, tbh

I mean the article contains official statements from the university saying Wade won’t be back until he talks, and an official statement from Wades attorney saying he won’t talk until after the legal process is resolved.

Unless Dawkins accepts a plea, that means April 22 at the earliest. Cmon I want Wade back too but don’t be dense. This is more than the writer speculating

If Wade can’t even lie/tell the truth and say one line “I didn’t violate NCAA rules” to LSU, I don’t blame them for the suspension

I do blame them for the circus they have created though

We’ll find out how hungry the team is being disrespected with Wades suspension. They looked like they had the fire against Vandy but that was Vandy. 2 wins in the SECt would prove they’re capable of winning without Wade IMO and would solidify a 2 seed.

Biggest new piece of info. School identified two people that might be the unnamed handlers in the call and are in the process of talking to them. Outcome of those conversations will go a long way towards Smart and Wades return

So a fricking agent runner is going to take down a program on the rise in basketball, yet LSU hires an ex agent runner/convicted felon as he “special asst to the Head Coach” in football?
Is thi the fricking Twilight Zone?????

retarded. fricking fire him or reinstate him. It’s getting ridiculous

It's a power play by the admin and board. They are basically trying to get grounds to fire him with Cause, and he is wisely not giving in to their BS. He has 9 Million reasons not to do it.

It's stupid and pathetic really, because he can't really talk about anything of value, and the NCAA isn't going to go easier on LSU because they suspended Wade. Whether he coaches or not, if there is legit violations that can be proven, they'd wipe the season out either way.

This is the stupidity of Alleva, F King and the board of morons. Suspending him does absolutely nothing.

Not based on this statement.

quote:

Alleva said he hopes Wade will eventually be cleared of any NCAA violations and return as LSU’s head basketball coach.

quote:

But Wade’s refusal to even discuss the latest reported wiretaps with university officials violated the coach’s contract and left LSU with no option but to suspend the coach, Alleva and Skinner said.

This can not be good, correct?

Wade’s in breach of contract, according to the piece. What would he sue for?

Exactly. Did the NCAA reduce sanctions on Mississippi when Freeze was fired?
It’s a freaking misconception that cooperating with the NCAA helps.
