I think we are all pretty much thinking the same thing here. Smart will play for good starting Friday, and we won’t expect Wade back this season. Then we will play the wait game as the trial happens and he talks etc. Like I’ve said before I’m not worried about the Ncaa investigating, or the FBI, I’m worried the shitty leadership at LSU will fire Wade. If they do fire Wade, they need to send Alleva and Alexander packing. Throw in some of the compliance department and BOS people.

Suspended LSU basketball coach Will Wade won’t be returning to the Tigers bench until he sits down to answer questions from university administrators about reported FBI wiretaps capturing Wade talking to a federally indicted hoops middleman about recruiting. Wade’s attorney told LSU in a Tuesday evening letter that the coach would talk about allegations once the wide-ranging federal investigation in college basketball corruption concludes, said Tom Skinner, LSU’s general counsel and vice president for legal affairs. That appears to make Wade’s return anytime this season exceedingly unlikely, no matter how deep of a run the No. 9 Tigers make in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, given that defense attorneys are expected to subpoena Wade to testify at a federal criminal trial scheduled to start April 22, well after the championship game.

The university also identified two other people who might be in the unnamed handler referenced in the wiretapped calls, said Skinner, the LSU general counsel. Both agreed to speak with the university.

Looks like the Smart family is talking.

The best that can come out of Wade suspension is that the players will be playing with a chip on their shoulder. Hang the god damn banner!

The silver lining in all this is if Smart is cleared, regardless of what happens to Wade, we aren't vacating shite.

Cliffs:

-the rumors about Wade originally agreeing to meet with Alleva and F King but then backing out because the meeting was amended to include BoS and NCAA officials are true

-Wade won’t be back on the bench until he denies any violations took place or gives further context.

-Wades attorney says he won’t discuss specifics until after the trial at the earliest

-NCAA officials questioned Smart and his family in conjunction with the university. An update should come by Friday

-Alleva is in Nashville talking with SEC officials.

-Biggest new piece of info. School identified two people that might be the unnamed handlers in the call and is in the process of talking to them. Outcome of those conversations will go a long way towards Smart and Wades return
