Notre Dane is going to route [rout] USC.
It is a mute [moot] point.
Really? please tell us that spell check got you and that you don’t believe that you write it correctly.

The CFP commissars want as broad a representation as possible for the viewing public.

They played a ranked team and we played a nobody. They also will play 2 more ranked teams they win out they will be in. Things always sorts itself out relax.

What isn’t lazy and irrelevant is that USC’s only two ranked wins came against Oregon State and UCLA by a combined 6pts and they barely beat Arizona an Cal ,both by 1 score. And in every game averaged giving up 40pts a game and playing zero defense. Anyone who has watched USC without west coast goggles on knows their resume is not a dominant one by any stretch and their strength of schedule is 40th vs 6th of LSU,4th of Georgia,7th of Ohio State, and 9th by TCU. Thankfully USC isn’t going win out the rest of the year anyway

USC moved ahead because the are a one loss team who beat their ranked rival on the road while we beat a mediocre non-conference opponent.
If we take care of business the rest of the way, we should jump them.
It's not the end of the world. There's no media conspiracy.

We all need to just accept we won't make it. If Clemson and USC win out, itll be both of them and Georgia and the winner of the oh st./Michigan game. The only way we get considered is if BOTH clemson and USC lose a game, preferably the conference championship.

And it really doesn't matter. I personally don't think LSU needs anyone to lose a game to get into the playoff - win two games to get to 11-2 SEC Champ and we are in. The real question will be does a 12-1 UGA get in above a (theoretically) 12-1 Pac-12 Champ USC?
I think this is the key. I don't know why it is assumed by many that UGA is in regardless. I think it would be hard for the committee to keep LSU out if we beat them and take the SEC championship. So the question isn't if LSU gets in over USC, the question is if UGA gets in over USC...

Only 1 reason—only 1 loss.

And we played who?

It will all work itself out after the OSU/Mich game and if we happen to beat UGA, wouldn't worry about it.
Everyone keeps saying this, but who are they going to move us ahead of? It is being set up for this.
1. Georgia (1 loss is in)
2. Ohio State (Win out and in/Lose and out)
3. Michigan (Win out and in/Lose and out)
4. TCU (Win out and in)
5. USC (Win out and in)
6. LSU (where do you put them with 2 losses?)

Why would anyone other than a 2 loss team want a 2 loss team in over a 1 loss team. Sure I want LSU to make it but some of y’all read way too much into things

I've been saying it for two weeks that a PAC team would pass. Te NCAA wants/needs a west coast team in the playoffs for ratings. Why would you eliminate half the possible viewership?

Don’t worry about what if. Just win the next game.

Nope
We are where we are because of Tennessee and Tennessee only.
When they lost big to USCe, it was over for LSU and the playoffs.

I wish people would just stop crying about this BS. If we beat Georgia we are in. If we lose to Georgia we are out. Its just that simple.
Posted on 11/21/22 at 12:44 pm to lsutigers1992
And if we handle business it will not matter. People are catastrophizing and twisting themselves into knots to justify why LSU won’t make the CFP.
The reality is extremely simple:
If we beat A&M and Georgia, we are in. Period, end of story. Does not matter what else happens. The committee will not leave out a 2-loss champion of the P5 conference that’s won 2/3 of all nattys in the past 2 decades, plus at that point would hold 3 top 10 victories and the single best W of the season.

This board worries far too much about things when there's a lot of variables still to be determined.
Just take care of business and we'll be fine.

Right before Oregon routes USC.
