We can bitch all we want, but our resume isn't as good as it was a week ago. Tennesse losing may have 'helped' us but it also hurt b/c that loss looks worse. Ole Miss losing this week hurt as well.

USC is 1-1 against currently ranked opponents
LSU is 2-2 against currently ranked opponents

USC's 1 loss was by 1 point to the #14 team on the road.
LSU lost by 1 point to the #16 team and lost by 27 points to the #9 team at home.

USC has one win over a ranked opponent #17.
LSU has beat #8 and #20.

If USC beats ND (#13) this weekend, that gives them a 2-1 record against ranked opponents and they will definitely be ahead of LSU going into the conference championships.

USC has three options for the pac12 championship and all of them are tough games: Oregon #10, Washington #12 or Utah #14. If USC wins that championship game, that's a decent resume.

If USC, TCU, and the big 10 champ all win out, our only hope would be to embarrass UGA out of the top 4 somehow.

TL;DR - IMO, LSU has to win out AND have some help. ND or Oregon over USC OR TCU loss OR Iowa over OSU/Mich winner.

I'm so tired of this. Why do people just post it’s lazy? That’s lazy actually.

Because the “they only beat ___ by ___points argument is lazy as frick.

The “ ___ beat___who only beat ___by ___” argument is pure sloth.

This whole “everyone in the media hates LSU” take is such a homer take. Hell, with Marcus Spears, Ryan Clark, Booger McFarland all being popular analysts, LSU gets plenty of positive airplay. On Sundays, analysts are constantly talking about LSU because of Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, etc. If LSU just wins out we will see what happens. Being the last 2 loss national champion and in discussion to be the first 2 loss playoff team is evidence enough that LSU doesn’t suffer from some inherent media bias. If we are left out because of another 1 loss team, it will be because we never should have lost the game against Florida state. Nonetheless, an amazing and fun season. The future is bright.

Here come the really intelligent people to tell you they’re really just Saban shills and hate LSU, in the face of mountains of evidence to the contrary.

Don’t you believe it!

Be patient. If we win our last 2 well jump over them. Let’s just take one game at a time and land where we land.

Stop. They best a ranked team and only has one loss. Don’t act like it’s crazy. I fully expect them to jump us. It’s no big deal.

Are you implying that the committee expected USC to lose last weekend? Otherwise, why wouldn't USC have been ranked AHEAD of us last week if their "resume" was/is better? I'm not so sure the committee is as high on USC as you people think. Now they were high on Oregon...

The rest of the country is tired of the SEC and only one team west of the Mississippi has a shot. That is a lot of viewers.
Might want to fact check that one.

It has 1 loss, while LSU has 2. Pretty simple.

Is it though? USCw is 0-1 against current top 20 teams (per tomorrows BCS ranking) while LSU is 2-2

USCw is 0-0 against top 10 while LSU is 1-0

USCw body of work is nowhere near LSU. Certainly not to the point where they get to jump LSU just because they beat a team (fUCLA) over the weekend that has now lost 3 of their last 5.

So no, it's NOT that simple.

There is a lot more to CFB than records. Jackson State is 11-0 do they deserve to be ahead of LSU (forget that they are FCS) because of their record? Hell no, their opponents suck arse... just like USCw opponents.

If LSU beats Texas A&M and Georgia in the SEC championship, they will be in regardless of what anybody else does. No way can they leave out the SEC champion who beat the number one team in the country in the SEC Championship game.

While this probably is 110% true, it has nothing to do with the OP argument.

Is it that simple though? That is their first ranked win of the season. They've played nobody and still managed to lose a game. They definitely wouldn't stay ahead of LSU if LSU won out. They shouldn't be ahead of LSU now either though.

I really want to believe this but I could see the committee absolutely fricking us on this. Assuming USC wins out
