Losing a game to Mizzou was an automatic disqualification from at-large consideration. Really nothing else needs to be discussed.

No it wasn’t, just like getting run ruled by Northwestern State wasn’t a disqualifier from top 8 consideration.

They went like 5-9 against teams in the field. Win those games and your issue is solved

we do need to improve our OOC SOS
Agreed. The Committee really overvalued SOS this year (Auburn top 4; GT ACC Champs but doesn’t host). The problem is they might value something else next year.

Trade them for Mizzou and call it a day.

Great quote considering Missouri played UConn and beat them.

I am a UConn fan and my nephew is going there to play baseball, but yeah, silly quote. Vandy and Missouri played UConn, as DID Duke and UNC. UConn played (and won) a series at Miami early in the year so I am not sure why he is bitching about scheduling. They played USC and UCLA too so it is not like there aren't opportunities to schedule for a good RPI.

UConn got screwed, IMO, but not a good look here calling out the SEC.

Oregon St isn't in a conference anymore and had no problems getting creative to get a good schedule done this year. They played a ton of road and neutral site games and played in 3 pre-season "tournaments." UConn needs to make it happen rather than complain.

We run rule this team 2 out of 3 games in the month of March. He'd shut his big mouth then.

Auburn accepted a series with UConn literally just last year. Auburn won the series 2-1, so I am not sure why Penders is calling them out. He has built am excellent program up there, but they just did not go enough against good teams this year. Lost twice to Northeastern, including at 7-1 defeat at home in the last week of the season. A win there, at home, over Northeastern in a mid-week game would have put UConn in.

Right. People want to point at Kentucky, and while I don't think they should be in, Oklahoma State is just as egregious and isn't an SEC school.

I searched the field of 64 and could only find Central Connecticut, no UConn. Also, I found 13 SEC teams. Exactly what is the fear supposed to be about regarding SEC teams not wanting to play them?

Right. No one is going to a series in feb / mar in CT

They can come here or do a neutral site / tournament.

What's so funny? Mizzou swept the preseason numero uno. In front of the bubbles. They were legit.

And Mizzou beat them. Maybe if they didn't go 0-fer in Puerto Rico to Mizzou, Stetson, and Penn State they'd have gotten in.

100% agree.

But didnt you just say the other day that you have been screaming for years that LSU should play a better OOC schedule? Playing UConn would strengthen LSU's schedule. Dump teams like Purdue Fort Wayne and Omaha and add UConn.

Yes. I'm not sure how that conflicts with what I'm saying in this thread.

I also think UConn was more deserving than a couple teams in the field. But they were a bubble team for a reason.

Agree 100% Schedule UCONN if they're agreeable. Much better than Purdue Fort Waynes, etc.

Just figured you would be on board with what the UConn coach is saying. The only way I see this as a bad statement on UConn is if the SEC tried to schedule them and UConn said no, and then coming out after selection show and publicly saying that the SEC wont schedule them.

If UConn wants to schedule SEC and fans want better OOC schedules, lets schedule UConn. They've been to what, 8 regionals in the last 10 years including 2 Supers?

I think it would a fun series. Has LSU ever played UConn in baseball?

I didn’t even know UConn had sports aside from men’s and women’s hoops
