“Good losses” don’t count for much-see all the 9-3 SEC teams on the outside looking in.
“Good wins” may count some however in the SEC LSU will have MORE than enough opportunities to get those and could do that with experience and time to gel as a team.
In the era of mass transfers getting 2-3 warmups is KEY.

If LSU is tied with another team in terms of record, as long as they didn't lose to them, they are in.
The only thing LSU needs to do is win enough games. That is it.

From 2005-2019, LSU was 14-1 in Week 1.
10 of the 14 opponents were from Power 4/5 conferences. LSU was one of a few schools that had the balls to play quality competition out the gate.
