Eh... maybe. I think it will tell us a whole lot about whether or not O is actually a long-term answer who can get us back to championship-caliber. I've always had major reservations about what will happen when/if he has to replace Aranda. But this year we have all the pieces for a championship-caliber team. Another 9 win regular season would be a gut punch and a major blow to O's viability.

Why are you using the word ceiling? Year onewith Brady.. still have an average at best offensive line. Still have an average defensive line as well. Key RB are unproven freshmen.
O fluffers never have trouble finding excuses.

Irk he’s recruiting very well. I could See us having a more talented team in 3 years, but I really do want to see that he can make a serious serious run at a title with what we have.

OL is still suspect until proven otherwise and you don't win the SEC much less the NCG if you do't have good OL play.

Also, this isn't LSU's ceiling under CEO. It's lining up to be a good year, but we don't know what the future holds.

he built all this in just 3 years, what makes you think this is just a one off?

So what you're saying is even though he's in the midst of quite possibly the best LSU recruiting class of all time, he'll never do better than this coming season.

Just stop it.

"It's the Jimmy's and the Joe's"

If Orgeron keeps recruiting at the same high level, '18 is not even CLOSE to the ceiling for Orgeron.

Anyone else remember when this exact statement was said over and over again on here last year?

“ built all of this in just 3 years”

At the risk of being called a hater, what exactly is “all of this”? 10-3 is a nice season not unlike many nice seasons that have come before many times. 5-3 is better than 4-4 but nothing special. 3rd in the West is better than 4th in the west but nothing special. The 8th best O in the SEC leaves a lot to be desired. 0-3 vs Bama to the tune of 63-10 is, well just plain embarrassing. Top 10 in the AP is a worthy accomplishment.

Hopefully, the offense breaks out this season and enables us to beat Bama and win the west.. i’m still in the wait and see mode as for as that is concerned.

What does that have to do with games won during the 2019 season?

Don't be ridiculous. There are a lot more factors that you don't account for - schedule, injuries, luck, etc...

Consider Les Miles. Was his ceiling 2007 when he went 12-2 and won a NC or 2011 when he went 13-1 against a ridiculous schedule and lost the NC? In 2007 he had the good fortune of jumping from #7 in the BCS to #2 in the final week of the season jumping Missouri and West Virginia who lost, UGA and Kansas who didn't play and Va. Tech who won the ACC Championship game. In 2011 he had the misfortune of 28-point favorite Oklahoma State losing to Iowa State giving Alabama a mulligan.

LSU can't be poorly coached and play frightened of Bama like they have been, and they must score points and be in the game and have a chance to win it. If not, Ed will catch holy hell and will deserve it.

LSU will have a bad or lackadaisical game or 2. Let's just hope those turn out to be ugly wins.

LSU vs A&M---Revenge is needed badly.

See?? I am coming around to the man and see progress, trying to take the wait and see approach but being optimistic and not talking shite about him, then you morons post something like this.

Built all WHAT in just 3 years?????? What in the actual frick?? 3 loss season and "he's built all this in 3 years"?
Besides, I thought it was only 2 years. Make up your mind!

Now I'll take the other side.

It has nothing to do with THIS season, it has to do with his "ceiling". The OP is a moron. O is recruiting well, better each season so far. So certainly this shouldn't be his ceiling.

OK, back to middle ground, optimistic wait and see mode.

AND, O's 2019 class has some studs who will be difference makers for this season and beyond.

It's not just me saying it.

Some just refuse to even consider that Orgeron can succeed past their expectations- even though he already did it, just last season. I'll never understand that, or the fatalistic path so many in this fan base choose to take.
