It's not just me saying it.

Some just refuse to even consider that Orgeron can succeed past their expectations- even though he already did it, just last season. I'll never understand that, or the fatalistic path so many in this fan base choose to take

Fragile little egos?

Oh I know that. It's a bunch of people. Just like last year was also a bunch of people saying Coach O was going to lock down the GOAT class. Then he finished 4th in the SEC.

Whatever the record, this years win total will be Orgeron’s ceiling because he will have all the pieces to win a championship: good schedule, virtually returning all starters on offense, senior QB, same OC as previous year, up and coming OC, veteran defense, Dave Aranda, etc.

So if we win the SEC or make the playoffs then great times are ahead, otherwise we won’t get anything more than this coming year.

There are many other factors like schedule, injuries and how other teams rosters line up that play into the mix as well. So I disagree with the assessment.

Orgeron has built the roster to where even many of the negatators (rickdiddy and madcow for ex) are predicting a 12-1 season in Orgerons 3rd season. What makes you think this is just a one-off and that he can't continue to build the roster, after all, recruiting is going well. Their is nothing to indicate that his 3rd season as HC will be his ceiling season, just the opposite.

Not really. We said the same thing this year about Miami, then Auburn. And November ended the same except losing to Tamu instead of a team like arky.

what exactly is “all of this”?

built the roster to where people, even a lot of negaturds, have high expectations for the 2019 season.

10-3 is a nice season not unlike many nice seasons that have come before
this thread is about the 2019 season and beyond, and is what I was referring to.

Top 10 in the AP is a worthy accomplishment.
considering we finished #6 which is the highest by far we have finished a season since the 2011 season, yes it is a pretty worthy accomplishment, but this thread is apparently about the future outlook, which looks quite well at this time, but time will tell.

Having said that if we stay away from injury bug and get some breaks we can get 11 regular season wins.

Can get?

Man you guys are already setting the stage for any loss other than Bama being excusable.

We're favored in every other game. I don't want to hear this "maybe we'll get 11 wins" nonsense. It's the expectation.

I don’t understand the constant debate, hate, hand wringing over the current state of the program and future. We are coming off a very good year and poised for an excellent year. Recruiting is solid and may be spectacular if we hold onto the verbals and have a good finishing kick with the kids who strong interest.

Why can’t everyone let it play out? Why the constant comparisons? Everyone is trying to catch up to Saban and Dabo right now. Jimbo isn’t in their league and Meyer is out of coaching.

You have no idea what Orgeron or anybody else's ceiling is. Life is kinda funny like that.

It's your narrowminded expectation. Quit shitting in every thread!!

We are favored in all games except for 2. Quit trying to spin every little thing.

If only we had had someone on staff the last several years who is an ace recruiter who also happens to specialize in coaching the defensive line. Oh well... O can only work with what he has!

Or, perhaps the $2.5 million man that is the highest paid coordinator in the country can at least muster up a top 10 defense against relatively weak offenses?

There’s so much wrong with this statement that it’s hard to pick a place to start making fun of it

none of those happened to bring us to your proposed ceiling so why would the inverse take place if it doesn't happen again ?
you realize you're stupid right ?

Why are you using the word ceiling? Year onewith Brady.. still have an average at best offensive line. Still have an average defensive line as well. Key RB are unproven freshmen.

This will always be the case. Next year Aranda might leave. Or Ensminger leaves and it will be Brady’s first year with HIS system. The defensive line this year is probably one of the best in the nation.

Anyway, none of that matters. It’s Orgeron’s third season as head coach, and it’s almost his fourth season including the interim. Whatever problems LSU has at this point should have been fixed by Orgeron. Unlike Dabo he didn’t have to build a program. He just had to reload some talent and get the right coaches. All the other top coaches won big in year three.

I don't know about a ceiling but when you consider the returning production (particularly the QB), the returning production of our competition, the schedule, this season lines up as well as a situation can line up.

The biggest thing is we still don't know how this staff will do with QB development. So I can see if people say that we have to strike while we have a good QB here.
