This coming year will be Orgeron’s ceiling
Posted by 4EverATiger12345 on 5/29/19 at 9:38 am60242
Whatever the record, this years win total will be Orgeron’s ceiling because he will have all the pieces to win a championship: good schedule, virtually returning all starters on offense, senior QB, same OC as previous year, up and coming OC, veteran defense, Dave Aranda, etc.
So if we win the SEC or make the playoffs then great times are ahead, otherwise we won’t get anything more than this coming year.

Yes I agree. Championship is his maximum ceiling

All the pieces are in place for this to be a special season now we just have to do it. How we look against Texas will determine the rest of the season

silliness stated with 'seriousness and concern' is still just silliness

Why are you using the word ceiling? Year onewith Brady.. still have an average at best offensive line. Still have an average defensive line as well. Key RB are unproven freshmen.
Having said that if we stay away from injury bug and get some breaks we can get 11 regular season wins.
We clearly have very good recruits coming in. With high ceilings. I have high expectations but this is not the ceiling.

If only we had had someone on staff the last several years who is an ace recruiter who also happens to specialize in coaching the defensive line. Oh well... O can only work with what he has!

Coaches are constantly rewriting their own history.
Through three full seasons at Clemson, Dabo was 29-19 and had just finished a 10-4 season by getting trounced 70-33 in a bowl game.

I respectfully disagree that the dline will be average. they will be above average. we can argue about whether they are top 20, top 15, even top 10, but without the injury bug we have some hosses!
Oline, unless something drastic happens, will be a little above average. they are good compared with most teams, but they don't look to rank alongside championship caliber teams.

Amazing stuff there. I am truly blown away by how much you know about the players we have now and in upcoming classes.Sad to hear JB will be the best QB Coach O will ever have. Is there anything you can do about it? Any sway or contacts that you can work to change that?

I disagree, if he somehow lands beasts on both sides of the line of scrimmage in the next few classes. I believe a better team could be compiled, though that is a big if.

Because O is in charge for getting the players for positions we are deficient. He hasn’t changed or recruited the OL well enough.
What does these have in common: Les Miles, Saban, Urban, Dabo, Jimbo?
They have all won their conference within their first three years as the head coach. Most coaches in the Modern era that win championships have won their conference in their first few years because of the things they put in place. Orgeron has the pieces to do the same.

Disagree. Saban only has a few years left and then there will be more parity. But I do think we will find out what his ceiling is by seeing what he can do with a talented veteran team. Doesnt necessarily mean this season will be his best record.
