What kind of player needs coaches to motivate him on the road against a division rival with a playoff spot on the line?

By this logic, any team upset late in the year has major coaching fails. Maybe all that talent at aTm finally have a shite and came together in spite of the shitty coaching that went on at CS this season.

I'd bet money that in 5 years we'll see that the 2022 Texas A&m team has more NFL talent than our 2022 LSU Team does. They were a talented underachieving bunch that put it together for a game, it's football. It happens.

I can totally agree with you, How dare they? How focking dare they disappoint us fans? We deserve better. We sit on our fat butts drinking our Bud Lite watching them and they lose?
What a bunch of ungrateful chumps they are and I mean coaches and players too.
Don't they realize that we are owed more than they gave on Saturday night? Yeah, that's right L S U football team, you OWE us fans. Big time!

Perfect storm. Senior night at Kyle, 5&7 Superbowl, nothing else to play for, last game for most of the seniors, Jimbo finally started all the guys 5&7 paid to commit to Not-a-college Station. Go back to when we had 39 guys play K-State with a WR as QB. That was last year. We weren't supposed to be here.

Did you watch the other 2 games LSU lost and Arkansas (that we should have lost)? This team is streaky and can win against anyone or no one.

Is there anyone actually excusing the way the team played Saturday?

Two things can be true.

The team failed miserably Saturday night and deserve everything they are getting in terms of criticism.

The team was not supposed to be here at the beginning of the season and has done a good job of exceeding expectations.

You come up with this on your own? Keep me posted on your game plan for the SEC championship. Also, let me know when you start your thread to fire Kelly.

Even if you are 100% correct, TAMU is garbage.

Plenty of average teams beat TAMU easily this year.

This board is displaying its pathological defense and valuation of the coach over team. Same shite happened with Miles and O.

They will bend over backwards and create any excuse necessary to protect the coach, even if it means throwing the team under the bus.

then fans perceptions of what they should achieve and their ceiling got over inflated

This would matter against, maybe, Arkansas (and was used as an excuse in that game). A so-so/mediocre team.

This excuse doesn't work with a terrible TAMU team. Our ceiling has nothing to do with beating a shitty team.

That whole narrative is odd, it is LSU. A team that was still supremely talented but thin at the end of last year. That was reinforced by a solid recruiting class and plenty of talented transfers.

LSU should be good, LSU should be competing, LSU should not strive to be Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Auburn where 8 or 9 wins is seen as a "good" season even when replacing a QB.

Very disappointing to let an opportunity to make the CFP slip away but the coaching as a whole this year has been a success. You never want to play that bad when there is so much on the line but it happens, for whatever reasons. I don’t think the players are totally to the end point of grasping the “whole” process and alignment. The coaches may have overlooked aTm to some degree also. Hopefully they find the same motivation to prove something like against Bama.

Seems you missed the last couple years when a con-man idiot practically destroyed this program.

A 9-3 regular season and SEC West champions are great “first steps” in a complete rebuild.

Did they?

How do you designate "the better team"?

I would say from a talent perspective, the better team won. A&M is loaded with talent.

Why do you think we were reveling in A&M losing all season vs Vanderbilt? Because They were expected to be one of the better teams in college football. That expectation was due to the talent level of the team and the perception of their coach as a top-tier coach.

And by the way, the "we weren't supposed to be here" isn't an excuse for the loss or the lack of energy for the players. It is a reason to not come here and shite on players and coaches who overachieve by any rational metric conceivable at the beginning of the season.

There were a crap ton of people after the FSU game saying "show me where you see 6 wins on this season" and stuff like that. Most of them were silent for much of the season. They seem to be back in force now to tell us how horrible this staff and QB are as they prepare for the SEC Championship game with a team that is 10-15 players short of a full scholarship roster.

Uh, yeah. Look at TAMU's record. They were a terrible team.

But this is completely separate from a terrible job of coaching against TAMU that led to a loss to a terrible team.

2 separate concepts. It's conflation by people who are more loyal to our coach than our team. They will create any excuse/reality to defend the coach. The LSU fanbase has been doing this since 2005 after Saban broke our hearts and we hired an idiot sexual predator as our replacement.

So three weeks ago you were basically wanting to suck Kelly's dick and now you wanna run him out the door.

People like you are why LSU fans get made fun of so much.
